Need stock downpipe for 89 NA Supra

I need the part that bolts to the stock exhaust manifold, I guess it's the downpipe. I am having absolutely no luck finding one online. Walker 54551 looks like it would work but every parts store says NLA. Anybody have a source for this or another one that will work? Or would a custom exhaust...

What experiences have you had using your brake set-up (pads in specific)

NAPA had Brembos when I was there yesterday, but they only had the fronts.

I had to kill it in order to save it............

Fixed the electric oil pressure gauge with a new sending unit. Installed new Monroe hood struts (no more Supra stick!!) Fixed the badly adjusted clutch pedal. Removed all the TEMS stuff. How the heck do you get the front bumper cover and valance off?

I had to kill it in order to save it............

The gauge faces came off easily, held on only by the screws. I also found out why the oil pressure gauge wasn't working: the PO had let a little piece fall off the back when removing and inserting the screws, and the bimetal strip was jammed. Once I figured out how to put all the tiny pieces...

    Fan Shroud!!

My God, some of those prices for parts at DTP are insane. I thought Porsche parts were stupid high, but ARRRRGGGGGGHHHHH!!!!!

I had to kill it in order to save it............

I will be careful on the gauge face removal. All gauges were working except the speedometer (broken cable) and oil pressure (PO had replaced with mechanical gauge). New speedometer cable and oil pressure sending unit have been ordered from Rock Auto. Hope the electric oil pressure gauge works...

I had to kill it in order to save it............

Thanks a bunch! I'll take a look tonight. Where did you find that schematic? In other news, I think I may have found out why my speedometer doesn't work: These are the gauge faces that are currently installed. I'm thinking about removing them and using the stock faces if I can get the...

What are you guys missing in parts/service/manufacturing support for the MK3 Chassis?

Race specific stuff, organized into kits so we don't have to spend days trying to figure out what might work. Right now I have to buy or fabricate (and I'm not sure what will fit): Oil cooler kit Accusump with electric valve Baffled oil pan Oil catch can Many more to follow.............

I had to kill it in order to save it............

So the engine only has a ground going to the intake manifold? I think all of those wires on the round thing were grounds. Several of them go to the drivers side of the block, a couple through the firewall to the passenger compartment, but were not connected, may have gone to some long gone...

I had to kill it in order to save it............

Well, it's not exactly dead, but it sure looks sick now, after I gutted the interior. Still some more to go. It will be reborn as a race car. Cannot anyone identify this small thing that looks like it should have a vacuum hose attached? It's on the passenger side firewall. Is this...

    This is my new project

This car has had several aftermarket stereos and alarms installed over the years, so I have some messes to sort out. 1: Is this ground wire adapter plate on the L F strut top stock or aftermarket junk? 2: Is this connected near the L F strut top normally used? 3: Does this unconnected...

    This is my new project

Thanks, guys. I spent the weekend getting the car on jackstands, wheels removed, and started work on removing the interior. Here is a picture of the inside after I got though most of the gutting, still some more of the dash to remove. Much tidying up remains. :) No wonder these cars are so...

    Wheel Fitment & Question Thread

I'm building a MkIIIfor ChumpCar racing. Currently have 1 set of wheels in 16"x7" with 40mm ET, plan on running 225/50-16 tires all around. I need at least one more set of decent, strong, straight, cheap wheels in 16" with approximately the same width and ET. On ebay I see these two sets, but...

    This is my new project

Hi all I'm looking forward to building my new project, a ChumpCar racer, based on this 1989 Supra. Once it warms up a bit. :) First thing is to get it home; right now it is stashed at work. Once I get track car finished and out of the way, the Supra can be trailered home and put up on...
