I think only you can answer the question of "is it worth it?" Just remember these cars are usually money pits.
Right after getting mine, I had to get the starter replaced, and within less than a year, I had to get a new turbo. Even with good maintenance stuff is going to break.
The Boss Jr turbos should make you about 400-450 WHP with a 60 trim.
A friend of mine has a 20g i believe, but anything that bolts up to the stock exhaust manifold won't be able to put out the numbers you're talking about (500-600hp).
You'd need to go with one of the Boss Series T3/4...
I can't say as to what psi they are good for, but I'm planning to upgrade mine when I get the hard pipes and intercooler upgraded...
So since you have hard pipes I'd suggest going ahead and upgrading.
To add onto what x87SUPRA87x said, if you recirculate a BOV, you'll lose less power between shifts because the air is being sent back into the intake pipe.
Only real "advantage" as I understand it is a vented BOV is louder.
+1 for staying away from autozone stuff.
For my money, Brembos are great (I have brembos that have been cross drilled, with PBR pads and haven't noticed any problems so far). I personally feel like the stopping power is weak hoever, but that's a problem with the stock brake setup, not the...
Most of these will probably never happen, but
1. Acura NSX
2. S14 240 SX
3. RX-7 FD
4. 3000gt VR4
5. Evo 8
6. mk4 supra
7. Lamborghini Murcielago (just to drive this one, lol)
8. Any performance Mustang (just to see why they're so popular)
9. Ariel Atom
10. Lotus Exige

Based on what you said, I'd go to that link and pick up a set of Cardone calipers. Doward uses them on his front brake kit, so it's at least a recognized name brand.
A friend of mine is upgrading his rear calipers to 300zx Z32 calipers. They're dual fixed piston calipers, but...
A friend looked at it with me yesterday. We figured out that the connector for the coolant temp sensor that hooks up to the thermostat housing was going out... we fiddled around with it, and the temp shot up to above redline. Dead giveaway was that when you disconnect it, it goes to redline...
I always thought shorter/smaller mufflers make the car louder. Or maybe I'm just thinking "higher pitched"
My car has a Tanabe style muffler, and it's pretty subdued/mild sounding. I'm running a three inch exhaust with no resonator, high flow cat and DDP...
Mine has a very low rumble...
Yes I had looked in the radiator... Burped the system a few weeks ago, and it didn't solve the problem....
I'm bumping this thread because I figured out something interesting today.
Whenever I'm coasting downhill, or if I hit the brakes (usually happens at higher speeds) is when the...
I'm with most of the other people on this thread.
Go with a 1jz or 2j with the r154. The Getrag gearbox costs as much on its own as the 2j long block, sometimes more.
Or hell, if you want something unique or just bragging rights, go with a 1.5j
Perhaps the most cost efficent way would be to do a 2j NA-T. I've heard of people using the 7m harness on the na 2j then using a turbo kit off ebay...

But at the same time, you should be saving for a new turbo.
If it were me though, I'd go 2jz-gte. :naughty:
I would say, if you wanna try and get part of that $2000 back, talk to a lawyer. That would be your best bet.
An ex girlfriend of mine got in a wreck in a Taurus... Wreck wasn't her fault clearly, but she still got nothing outta the insurance company. It was pretty shitty.
With a car this old, service records aren't going to do a lot of good IMO. When I bought my '90, it had seemingly no problems, and almost immediately after buying it, I had to replace the starter and radiator.
Besides the obvious, things I would do if I was shopping for it -
-Drive the...
Coilovers might be in my future, and I know they'll be the best upgrade for my handling... but just not in my budget right now, since they're not a vital upgrade.
Not really expecting to set any records on courses or autocross, just for fun.
A lot of my upgrades have come from the car...
Well with a full rebuild you're looking at at least $4-500, and by the time you reach that price, you could just go with a Boss Jr and get close to that HP range.
But yeah, i agree with the other members, just go with a reputable brand, and reduce the risk of ending up with fan pieces...
To paraphrase Top Gear, the kind of guy who drives that is the kind of guy who would take his wife to dinner, and flirt furiously with the waitress all night, but its OK 'cause he's got a BILLET ALUMINIUM COBRRRRRRRAAAAAA!
BTW this car is gross.
Yeah definitely get the authorities involved if you know the guy, and have his license plate.
Totally lame. IMO a good supra mechanic is worth his weight in gold.
