I too have bilsteins and H&R's. They're freakin awesome. Very stiff, very and a very good drop. I know they're the biggest drop of any mk3 spring, and they're probably the stiffest also, aside from coilovers.

I live up in the DFW area and I don't think anyone gets pulled over for loud exhausts... because I've got a few people a day driving by my apartment that are louder than fuck.... but just because I haven't been pulled over doesn't mean it doesn't happen.

Perhaps you could send it into a reputable shop (Performance Techniques, or Driftmotion) and have them rebuild it with quality parts. Might save you some money over buying a new gt-45 of good quality.

A friend of mine replaced the dash on my car, and he had experience doing the job before (multiple times). Even with his exp, it was still a 2-3 hour job. My suggestion is find a replacement dash, and get someone who knows what they're doing to replace it for you. It is DEFINITELY a lot of work.
