    Boost! but no Boost!!!

    did it happen shortly after you installed that BOV, mine had the same problem, just not all the black smoke. i would check that BOV's vacuum lines.

    stock turbo removal help

    I just got my heat shield off last night and i'll be checking for shaft play later today. My turbo has 200k on it, i'm picking up one with around 100k. I think that swap is almost inevitable. Too bad if that doesnt sound right, i know what i mean.

    If you have not just done a HG, and done it right, or have the money to do a HG, right, then it may be best to wait on major boost increases. Maybe not going over 7psi is a good idea. But obviously your decision, i would just use that as a guide.

    i would go with a mhg but i cant get the blocked decked so i guess it's pointless. thats why i wont go with a mhg.

    Yeah i don't see the big issue here, 5 psi on a fairly stock car is about normal. i think mine is 5.5-6. hope to have a solid six when i get a dp back 3".

    Poodles, what you're saying is that the lexus 550 combo is more stable as a way to gain horsepower and raise boost cut COMPARED to a SAFC with stock air/fuel parts? I'm not too informed about this lexus afm and 550 inj yet, wanted to know more. Thanks.

    oil through the intercooler pipes

    I had a small build-up when i cheanged out my upper IC piping. But mine wasn't flowing out or anything, just enough that i could run my finger around the inside of the pipe and get my finger wet. Checking shaft play next week when i pick up another turbo.

    Dude thats unfortunate, luckily your rebuilding it. If you could go back would you get an aftermarket OEM HG or just surface the block and stick with the MHG?
