    Where did the oil go?

This is for everyone's amusement at my stupidity, so don't waste your time reading further unless you have a sense of humor. My oil is disappearing, about as much oil per gallon of gas as a chainsaw uses, but it's not coming out the tail pipe, just take that as a given. It's not dripping...

That will be a nice car. Sounds like you're from Dublin, not Columbus! Drive carefully.

    7MGTE build need input

I imagine you can hit your goal much less expensively, but then you won't be ready for your next goal when you get bored with 350rwhp. There is an advantage to modest HP goals in reliability, tuning the power and torque curves to best driveability, fuel economy, and low turbo lag. Maybe you...

No Spark, but everything tests good

Mine has been running pretty well all winter. THere was no one thing causing my trouble with warm starts and irregular idle. I calibrated the TPS, retaped all the grounds and used fresh bolts, did the ignitor grounding upgrade, and it ran okay, no missing beats. THen I got a wideband, confirmed...

    3P's TCCS Disassembly/Analysis

Great, just wanted to be sure I had it all. Even if we aren't working actively on it, there would be a benefit to getting as far as snatching the contents of the GTE ROM and posting it for comparison. I don't know if it has already been read out by someone. It is the critical step that...

    3P's TCCS Disassembly/Analysis

Yes, I've been working on the disassembly as well. I'm amazed how far you guys got already. I've been editing the comments and address labels and color coding to set apart different sections of code so I can make sense of it. Once I get everything all pretty I'll post it on assembla. You seem...

sudden rich condition, code 11, fixed by EFI reset

Thanks, I didn't see your post until just now. That makes perfect sense. I'll check it this weekend. I also just found I have a failing fuel pump, if that changes anything. I'll fix that this week. If you happen to come back to this thread: The rich condition was resolved by backing out...

    Another modified stock exhaust manifold

I'm really amazed by the worksmanship by some of the people on this site, so I want to be clear I'm doing amateur work with poor tools. That said, I modified my stock exhaust manifold, as others have done, and perhaps went slightly farther than most. I had worries about structural integrity...

    7mgte AFM issues, please help!

You can get a DMM with frequency readout for under $40 from Radio Shack, I saw one for about $20 by Steren that might even do the job.

    7mgte AFM issues, please help!

did you verify that your Ks signal is correct now that you have a new AFM sensor? Why not be sure that is working before going into a new system? That is if it is running at all. I'd rather see if there are the right signals at the ECU before I check all the wiring and sensors directly.

sudden rich condition, code 11, fixed by EFI reset

Just because: 1) I'm a curious person and I want to learn all about how the TCCS operates, so I love the data logger. 2) I was influenced by posts on this site saying not to even bother tuning without a wideband, and rather than waste a lot of time, I 'splurged' for $280. 3) I didn't trust...

sudden rich condition, code 11, fixed by EFI reset

I have the zeitronix wideband setup working. What I found was interesting, so I guess I'll revive this thread for anyone interested. I have two known remaining problems: 1) runs rich/bad fuel economy 17mpg 2) strange idle behavior Wierd engine data (simulated narrowband signal...

    USB to Serial issues

software compatibility is also an issue. My new zt-2 works only with the CD rom that came with it, not with any version of software on the web site. this isn't documented yet on the web site. It doesn't work at all with windows 98 because the lastest software revision is apparently not compatible.

    USB to Serial issues

An older subnotebook laptop with a serial port is dirt cheap used, and smaller/lighter. why not just replace the computer, since old equipment is so darn cheap? I've got three sitting around, not evenworth the price of wiping the hard drives of personal data and shipping them. Expect to pay...

    Whats this go to?

I'm going to go out on a limb and guess it's the connector for the headlight cleaner relay. http://www.cygnusx1.net/Supra/Library/TEWD/MK3/manual.aspx?S=Main&P=119 The relay is black, mounts over right front wheel well, not all cars would have it. The connector has a light blue/yellow...

    looking for building tips!

And budget. You are working on an 18 yo car with worn, oxidized rubber and if it's been anywhere with real seasons, there will be a lot of rusted bolts, some of which will snap. Remember there is rubber in the strut dampers, steering tube, bushings galore, in addition to a bunch of engine...

Ventilation Hose Part Numbers - Needed

I replaced all of them. I'm impatient, so I went to Advanced auto parts, the big chain, and they let me browse their stock of hoses. I found longer, or more complicated hoses that had segments I could cut out. after about 3 trips I found pieces that were close enough to be a decent fit. It...

    car running rich

I think the general opinion tends to be: 1) check your codes if you have and engine light, check even if you don't. It's so quick and easy, you could almost do it at a traffic light and be off before the light changes. 2) consider the cost of a wideband O2 sensor. It's about the same as...

    car running rich

I'm in the same place with mine. No boost leak, runs rich, no codes, otherwise drives well, except a funny rpm variation in a narrow band with no load. to test the O2 sensor, I ordered a Zietronic wideband setup, which is essential anyway, and will monitor TPS I'm looking also at swapping...
