Kershaws rock. I've 2 Ken Onion series spring-assisteds, both the smaller one with the black plastic-ish handle, and the all metal one. Edge retention is phenomenal. I almost got arrested at the STL Arch museum for having my larger one on my last saturday...evidently they're illegal to carry...

Wix makes a decent filter as well, and they're only around $8-12. Mobil1's are hard to find around here for some reason...

Which means this is a power issue I'd say run something bigger than that puny ass 10awg to your amps, and run a good ground. Also, check your battery connections, and your d-block connections. Check back when you've done so.

The 5.1 issue: do NOT use a center channel speaker without a 5.1 processor...it will sound like SHAT. Been there, installed that, customer even hated it. If you feel the need for 5.1 in your car ( I don't know why...) use a single-din speaker like NIXmx suggested. I know Alpine makes one...
