Usually the deck height of a 2JZ is 8.621" FYI (give or take around 1-3 thou)
Rod length on "3.4" liter 2JZ's stays the same @ 5.590", the stroke goes up to 94mm - 3.701" and the pin goes up to a honda-spec 1.181"
We have done a handful of cars the other way around (MKIV) to get a bit more sidewall in the rear for traction. Some cars look good staggered, some don't.
I'm sorry, did I quote you somewhere and disagree with you? I was responding to the masses that were up in arms about the 'rebuild cost' nothing more.
As far as the warranty situation with Turbonetics, all I can speak to is my experience with them. I have never had an issue. I sell a large...
Correct.
First question is why? I've had high end 2JZs easily from 9,000 up to around 10,200 (not that anyone needs to go up there). The 2JZ really has no issue with RPM, throw some valvetrain in it, a good piston and rod and it will turn pretty much as fast as it needs to to keep up with...
As IJ said, all that (really) is doing is putting a larger valve head for the air to get around. If you're not at least unshrouding the valves and doing a valve job, then you're doing nothing more than hanging a few more grams off your valve stem.
Why do you think methanol injection will yield more power per PSI of boost? The oversimplified version is - it's not going to change much at all. Knock threshold may change thus allowing for more boost, but that's a different matter entirely.
The beatings I have seen Garrett Ball Bearing units take is staggering. (obviously there are rare failures) but a small boost leak will not over speed a ball bearing Garrett cartridge to the point of failure at a low boost setting. You are correct though about the turbo accelerating to make...
550-600hp shouldn't be attempted with the injectors you have. As a general blanket statement on a 6 cylinder I usually say that maximum gasoline horsepower is 1hp per cc assuming a 3 bar base fuel pressure. 520-550hp should be the maximum unless you over fuel pump it and ramp up base pressure...
Try not to put too much stock into the nomenclature of frame size. Just pay attention to the wheels and you should be alright. But no they don't all have 7 blades, to my knowledge there isn't any uniform 'wheel change' just going from GT35 to GT37 (and larger) families.
Correct, the GT37...
I admit my unfamiliarity with the "Boss" turbochargers, but you haven't given anyone any information at all in which to give you an answer. The only possible answers that someone could give you right now will be arbitrary "I like this one." Which will undoubtedly be because they own one.
You...
I know this is old but to put it bluntly, assuming all else is equal a larger trim (compressor or turbine for that matter) the wheel with the larger trim will generally be able to flow more. However you just have to realize that trim is not the end-all-be-all. There are hundreds of car forums...
