Every 7M head I have seen in pieces (about 5) has wear like that on cams and bearings. It often seems worse near the front bearings and I always presumed that was due to overtightened timing belts.
Measured by me.
My BC stage 2 intake cam is in the car ATM. I will measure it when I pull it out.
Looks like the 7MGTE intake cam has more lift and about 10 degrees more durataion than the NA cam.
My ACIS has an adjustable change over point as it is running off a shift light indicator a bit like those found on old rev counters. Mine is set at 4000rpm. To be honest changing the set point up and down a few hundred rpm makes no detectble difference. Leaving the ACIS valve open at all rpm...
Those bodgied up 5M pistons are going to be shocking for detonation with all those sharp edges. Given all your machining skills etc why not buy some piston blanks that are a bit closer to what you want.
I agree with this post entirely. I have tried both the factory 315cc injectors and the 1uz 251 cc injectors and both worked well. I think each 315cc injectors is rated at about 50hp. SO to get 300 hp out of NA 7M is a challenge.
The knock sensors that toyota uses have a little can containing the microphone and a mechanical resonator tuned to the engines knock frequency. Knock frequrncy is determined mostly by the bore diameter.
Nissans and others use a broad band knock sensor and have an electrical resonator circuit...
I think mine is a jdm. I bought it from wrecking yard. Wreckers bring in import motors and fit them mostly to cresidas with blown head gaskets. They take the jdm intake off and put the cressida intake on.
Took me forever to find the little vacuum canister and the accelerator cable brackets...
