At this point in time I could see a few people grabbing thier monitors and screaming NO DONT DO IT. I bet poor IJ bought had a heart attack. I made that mistake once man. Its a costly one.. even in a 1865cc vw :)
yes that is very good to know. Thank you for posting. I'm going to check this weekend and see how fast the local can get one. I really appreciate your post. I've looked high an low here.. not one to found in junkyards, here anyway.
I appreciate the tilp and thank you. I'll check the site out asap. As far as tooling one up. No can do. I dont have the skills, shop or tools to do so. I wish I did, but there isnt a way for me to do it.
One question: they say upper right or upper left control arm are they saying looking at the...
Well on the way to work today the wheel bearing went out. Called in to work.. got hom i've got the wheel bearing put in and the upper control arm balljoint is shot. I've looked around online and noticed you cant buy the balljoint itself I want to find a reputable company to deal with. Anyone...
Go away for Thanksgiving. Come home and may gas tank door is bent all to crap, the driver side door seal is torn. Fixed. I hate people who try to steal stuff. Got those two things done. Now I get up this morning and I have no vacuum pressure, anywhere. None, nada, zip, zilch. Thus no heat...
If anyone has had anything to do with VW's you'd know it was crap. I've seen people put undrive pulleys on the alternator and run the fan ducts to a modified carb cleaner. Of course they relocated the oil cooler. Just forcing a mute amount of air into your car does nothiing. It seems to me it is...
The way I did it was: I removed the cylinder from the firewall. Drained it of course, removed the line as well. Ran a lint free rag down inside the bowl and scrubbed, doesnt hurt to use a baby bottle brush. You can us brake fluid to flush it as well. That sludge caused mine to leak. Any Dot3...
Mine did the same thing when I got my supra. I took the switches apart. Inside the switches are copper contacts. They get bent over time. You can easily take them out of the switch (after removing the switch from the door panel) and bent to make contact again. Worked for me. Nothing fancy. Just...
Man I know the feeling. Bought my car.. rewired the inside.. doors.. radio.. lights.. Put a drive shaft in it.. Brakes, new rotors. Ran hot.. blew the head gasket.. got that fixed.. injector seals went bad.. fixed that.. Got my car running for around 3 months.. lucky me. Then the rear end...
Thanks but I just need the housing.. I dont have any place to store an entire rear end. My wife would kill me if I put it next to the shed and left it there.
Yeah DrJ is a good place to look. Anyone have a link to his forums? I'm on my new comp and dont have the link. Its on her comp.. and shes...
Cool thanks guys. Anyone have a diff cover they are willing to sell? LOL. There are NO places to get parts for these things around here. At all. None. I've looked and looked.
I did spin my tires while its up on jacks.. the diff is still good. I dont drive this car hard. Its my daily driver...
Well as you can see its not threaded. How and the crap would it just.. pop out? I havent touched the rear end at all. Can it be helicoiled and bolted? If not I'll have to rethread it and go to a larger size. Is that the best way to go? If so I'll jump on getting the parts tomarow including the...
