i got up to 140 once. it was surprisingly nice. steering wheel was nice and smooth and it was easy to keep it at that speed. that was in my 87 when i still had the 7MGTE in it.

A lot depends on tire diameters anything other than new 225/50/16's and it's going to be wrong then add in the inaccuracies as you go faster and it's sort of a speed estimation not a speedometer

I haven't been up that high since I got my GPS, but it's about 5mph fast everywhere up to about 110 (haven't gone over to verify at higher speeds)
120mph, felt like i was about to redline didnt really want to look at rpms though, 4.3 lsd, 245/40/18's, car felt stable though.
140mph ... 91 5-speed. 9psi, 5th gear, lowered. could keep going but i would have missed my exit ! gps varified (twice!)

Many more mods now, and it gets going so much faster I'm a bit scared to do it again...
I have redlined my car once and will never do it again! At the time I had just over 400rwhp, I had 275/40/17 tires and a 3.73 rearend. I have no clue how fast I was going, need new suspension and a new set of pants after doing that. But there is no point on going that fast, I probably won't get it above 130 anymore, but that is only on a highway pull if some one wants to have some fun.

135mph effortless. 5spd Turbo. 3" ddp, 3" exhaust, K&N, 60-1 CT, Lexus AFM, Precision 550cc Injectors, Aeromotive AFPR, cut springs+kyb gr2's.
Did this the first night I got my car, coming back from NYC, I was on I-87, and a 06' Acura TL A-Spec ran up side of me. The driver kept glancing over at me and slowing down next to me. I was already doing 80 and I wasnt planning on punching it since I was using a dealer plate to bring the car home. After about 15 minutes of him trying to run me, I got tired of the bullshit. We slowed down to a roll, about 60mph, I was in 3rd. We lined up, gave 3 honks, started pulling, I pulled ahead by 2 car lengths, then slammed forth gear, by this time I was about 3-3.5 car lengths ahead. But he wasnt going much further back, I came off the gas and punched it so hard I thought I was gonna end up with my foot thru the firewall. LOL. I went into 5th doing 120, and before I knew it I was 5-6 car lengths ahead. I looked down at the speedo, and there it was; 135. The car felt like it wanted much more. My buddy was driving up with me in a 06' Explorer, he was there with us when we launched. We slowed down together and he was telling me my car was spitting flames like a bitch.
Still runs rich, until I get my SAFC during this week.

well it was in 5th gear, for some reason my 86.5 had a 4.556:1 ratio differential, that doesnt account for me redlining at 120 though, i am thinking someone might have regeared my tranny before i bought it, or maybe it came with the w57 transmission having a .83:1 5th gear ratio, i am going to check out my engine plaque thing today when i get home. at 60 mph i am at 3000 rpms in 5th gear, not good for driving on the interstate.
great gearing for taking it one the strip. u must go thru the gears pretty quick and accelerate good with that kind of gearing
