What kind of car would make you feel worst if you lost to it in a race?

I'm sure everyone out there has lost a race at once time or another to a car that was just plain embarrassing to lose to.

I once lost to a turbo cavalier. Yeah I know. :nono:

But out of all the possibilities... what would be the worst?

I'm shopping for a winter beater again, and I'm thinking of putting together a junkyard turbo kit for it and doing a few things. My initial thought was a late 80's dodge caravan with the turbo II engine (google "gus mahon").... but anything shitty (but junkyard upgradable) would be fine.

some embarassing cars ive lost to
turbo minivan, turbo pt cruiser, dodge shadow, swapped dodge spirit, any dodge car ive ever lost to.. vw beetle new style, a chevette.
find a convertible geo metro and turbo it, it can be stylish and fast while having fuel economy.
if your lookign for a sleeper, nothign more lazy and slow looking then a geo or dodge colt. or a buick roadmaster stationwagon.

Excellent.... now I've got a few more cars to add to my list. I had most of the dodge/chrysler models on the list already, but I forgot about the metro, festiva and temo/topaz.

I've seen a handful of the Caravans with the same turbo 4 cylinder that was in the Daytona Turbo that were disturbingly quick for a VAN...

On the subject of vans, I figure an Odyssey with an NSX engine with a bit of boost to help would be an awesome ride.

Dodge omni or ford fiesta
Omnis can be made fast easily too. Remember, Dodge and Mitsu were in bed together a LONG time, it's not hard at all to swap in a 4g63 engine into an Omni.

Also, Ford made (well, dunno if it was Ford or an aftermarket group) a SHO version of the Fiesta. Stuck the 3.2l Yamaha v6 from the Taurus in where the rear seats would have been on the Fiesta. Jay Leno (surprise) has at least one...

A pink miata

All too easy to make Miatas fast, I'm not at all surprised by those things anymore. Kinda has to do with owning a couple of them. They take to boost very well, and swapping in a GM LS v8 isn't much of a chore these days either.

My personal idea for a fast, unsuspecting car? A wagon, of any sort. Saturn, perhaps.

Yeah I saw one of those festiva's at Carlisle one year. They're called the "Shogun". They're also widebody, IIRC.

When I was looking for a "fast" project car (when I got the supra) a miata was actually on my list. I would go turbo with one of those though, a V8 is a bit too sacrilegious for me. (Speaking of that, I might be swapping a 1GGTE into my 1950 chevy just to avoid having to gas up a V8 or deal with a weak 105hp chevy 235. It's much cheaper than a V8 swap, too.)

Hmm. I wonder how much a tercel goes for these days, they come with some impressive 175 width tires...
