Supra is getting all the bushings replaced along with tie rods and various alignment parts (almost everything).
Unfortunately, there are no control arms available anymore (nor bushings for them) so I am using Energy poly's. Slapping on KW Swaybars. I don't know if anyone has ever run with them, but I will see how this puppy feels after they are on and I finally get a proper alignment.

Stock bushings are discontinued? Or are you referring to the front control arm bushings which never were replaceable.
I should caution you that there is a very good engineering reason why that is the case for the fronts.

Yeah the control arms. Mine are toast which is why I'm using the energy ones.

The control arm can push over the energy lower bushings under harder conditions.

As long as the bushings are available this should be a lifetime rebuildable part.

This is a bigger problem. If the ball joint fails then it will be difficult to repair this.

Did you consider checking the availability of the 48720-14070 used on the later cars. I'd bet there is a good chance it will fit just fine.

I have seen photos of it, but those cars were track cars and drifters with massive turning angles
When you hit the brakes, the force of the braking pushes the arm backwards which is then transferred to the bushing which are parallel to the braking forces. The stock bushings are molded to the arm and center crush tube and resist this force by deflecting the rubber insert. This is why these bushes are the only ones not replaceable.
For Poly bushings, there is no lateral resistance since the bushing is not bonded to the eye or the crush tube, and the arm slides rearward and compresses the poly bushing lip between the arm and the frame bracket. The entire force of braking gets put on the bushing lips. Hit a bump while braking and the lip get torn and crushed. Crappy design. The process will just be slowed down if you drive gently, but it will still be happening.

Thanks, mr. pi. I have the full ES set, but I think I'll probably leave my stock front LCA ones alone until they become a problem.
Dammit... The ES bushings are being installed right now, which means I'll have to revisit it. What is the best option?
I saw the battle version and not really interested in those unless it was a last resort. Not fond of the joints.
I may be lucky and find either a really good used set of lower control arms or someone who was hoarding a OEM new set.
