I tried fixing my exhaust leak and ended up breaking the bolt for the oil dipstick, so I made up a bracket that bolts with the coolant block off plate on the turbo and it holds the bracket for the oil dipstick in place. Found that like 4 of my exhaust studs came out with the nut then I put some nord lock washers on them and torqued them a little more than spec out of frustration and then fired her up. STILL HEAR TICKING. I am just going to deal with it until I do my 2jz swap.

sure the ticking is not from the valves?

I can hear the valves ticking it sounds normal like everyone else's it sounds like it's from the downpipe area but when I tried putting high temp RTV to just see if it was it I still had the tick.

Went to a car show. My husband's family is big into cars, we brought four along:
cars1 (Medium).JPGcars3 (Medium).JPG

My Supra
My step-dad's 46 ford (he did complete restoration including paint)
My husband's 95 SC300 (all original)
69' Mustange (complete restoration done by my husband, my brother-in-law, and their Dad)

Out of the four, we didn't bring home a single trophy! My seats are cooked and cracked, and I can't get the guys to clean up the engine bays!! Well, Scott (brother-in-law) did win some cupcakes in a cake walk, so all was not a loss..

There was a Nissan 370z there, which shocked me because you don't see many Japanese cars at a car shows around here. It did win a trophy.

It happens like that sometimes. I use to judge car shows and have attended many. Seen some cars win that shouldn't have and seen some get moved into classes that they didn't belong in

While everybody is doing bigger things...I'm just here happy I have a rear wiper. LoL. I painted it as well as my windshield cowl.

I actually did it a couple days ago. Car got dirty real quick :(

Painting the front wiper arms next.

EDIT: BTW. I think the rear wiper should be 19", not 17" like Auto zone said. Going to buy some Silblade wipers now.

I redid the plywood in the trunk replaced with 3/4" finally got sick of the squeaking, removed all bracket transferred over and added extra support for the weight. Redid the wiring but turns out I have a short from one of my speakers pinned it down to rear right. Checking that out in the next couple of days.

Getting ready for MA Performance's Proving grounds, going to bring a lil more than I have in the past, so I needed a little add-on.

Love that exhaust Scot. One day I will get one of my very own. Hats off to HKS for making an option that looks almost stock!

Did a transmission filter change for my auto. Not sure what the deal was with the giant filter I pulled off...
(Top came off car, bottom is not OEM, but it looks the same as the current Toyota part.)

It frightens me to see a Supra with a hitch - can't you Minnesotians go anywhere without your boat??
