What did you do to your supra today? Pics

LE better have wrote her a hefty ticket, and her insurance should know that its time to bend over. We had a guy roll a burn barrel (trash barrel) that was "out" into his rented garage. He rented 1 bay. Burn barrel wasnt out, lit the entire garage on fire and melted a nice IMCA modified car down. his insurance company ended up payin the race car owner around 25g. Everything was "custom" plus it was a newer chassis. He ended up only spending 13g to get another ha

Problem is this hose is putting a size able amount of oil in the intake side of the turbo via the turbo inlet.

Helps to have bills for the parts.. helps immensely actually...

My 1987 NA MK3 got totaled off. I bought it for 450.00, bought an engine for 300.00, bought a clutch for 300.00 (no bill for the 2 parts) and then swapped the engines. My body was missing body trim and had a little rust starting on the quarter panels. I had classic insurance on my car and walked the adjuster through all the car and parts involved, quoting actual numbers (that were verifiable by online sources) and pointed out what was for sale and what it takes to get my car to where it was. (It helps that I have a huge folder of bills for my 88). In the end, they gave me 8700.00 for the car, let me buy it back for 800.00 because they acknowledged I was an "enthusiast". I was pretty lucky regarding this because the guy was a specialist on classic cars and knew how rare the cars are getting.

As a side note... MK3 owners are like beaten down kids that never get self confidence. They accept people's responses that... oh.. that car is only worth 3000.00. It kinda pisses me off. The wheels on a good Supra usually cost 1800.00 or more alone! All those mods and upgrades take time and money. No damn way I would accept that my car is worth 6000.00 cause its "mint". Fuck that! The sooner MK3 owners wise up and realize the true value of the car the better.

It may have its warts and flaws (all fixable btw), but the production numbers were FAR less than a Corvette. They were rare when new.. they are much rarer now.

The only point I will concede on is that the car has rust issues in certain areas and the "cheap" price leads to "cheap" builds which generally end up with pile of crap cars on the road. A properly built MK3 that was done right and clean just sold about 4 months in my area for 27,500.00. If anybody realizes the true value of the car, they will recognize... yes.. there are people out there willing to pay the money (and they actually understand the car) and no... people wont buy your car while there are better ones selling for dirt cheap.

... I saw a Dodge Dart that I could have bought for 500.00 when I was a teen... and had sit in the garage and been happy today with it... but hindsight is 20-20. Imagine... in 10 years...

blue book doesn't really apply to these cars. NADA doesn't go beyond 94 Supra (I believe.. not 100% familiar with that and don't know what other things adjusters use to come up with values). Talk to the appraiser and tell them what a sweet ride it was and then list everything you did to it (if you can back it up with bills and/or a very vivid description). Remember.. time also counts. If you keep your mouth shut.. they will do their job. (which is... save their boss as much money as possible)

oh yeah... a new engine is worth 4500.00. Even if you paid 600.00. I would argue that one to the end.. lol.

Sorry... old guy rambling. Just get a little buzzed when a Supra dies and a Supra owner potentially gets peed on. Tired of everyone walking with their heads hung.. when they should be walking straight and proud. We are a shrinking group... and should be proud of owing a car that people might see once or twice a year.. not every single day.

You are definitely not rambling. I have even noticed the number of MK3's shrinking here in the Southern US where we don't really have rust issues. I used to know of at least four in the area, but I haven't seen two of them in years, one was just sold, and I haven't seen the other in quit a while now too. I agree with everything you said on the values one the car. Whenever some random person at the Toyota Dealer, AutoZone, or wherever talks to me about my car and they ask for the price I paid, they always tell me I stole it at that price. I'm sure if I posted it here though I would get people telling me a paid way too much for it.

Just for a reference here are the values for an 87 Supra. I'm not sure what year yours is MaxBurn, but it shouldnt be too far off.

See, now usually when you want to light something on fire you CONTAIN it and then you light it and you stand by with a fire extinguisher

One would think people would know this, but the vast majority of people are stupid.

agree. i've seen 2 mk3 supras in like 2 years and just because i know the owners and met with them. they're very rare here in Latvia and i hate when ppl dont understand the true value even if you can buy one here for 3'000$, btw thats only one mk3 supra u can buy at the moment and meen like thatfor half year and it looks like crap. there are maybe 2 different supras for sale. so rare they are... I AM PROUD SUPRA OWNER.

Nope. The lights are aimed properly. I'm running yellow bulbs and yellow capsules.

lol maybe it was feeling that way since it has been sitting in the garage but took advantage of the 65 degree weather to throw these on and let the battery get a charge

No, I almost got them, but went with an HID projector set up instead. That's fairly low miles for an 02. My dad has an 01 4Runner just like that with like 150k and my mom has an 05 4Runner. They are definitly great SUVs.
