Never seen it done, but the nissan q45 is a strong motor...puts out more low end tq than the 1uz..Lt1 is a good motor as well as the ls1..depends on what kind of money you want to spend..any of these motors can makes some serious power boosted....I think the 1uz is the high rev king of the bunch though...

The smoothest operating high power efi v8s will be anything with a coil pack design. This eliminating the lt1. If you would consider that, pretty much any v8 is on the table.

If you could source a 4.6 dohc from a cobra that would also be an ideal setup. Possibly with 5.4 bottom end? The aftermarket support is double nearly everything with the exception of the ls1.

I myself am considering a 1uz with a progressive rate 150 shot direct port for a drift car and extremely cheap 320-350whp.

in that case ls1 or ls2... ls1 is 350hp stock....my cousin found a ls1 SS camero( those are 375hp i think) clip for $2500 and thats even with the t56..can't beat that...

and than how much money to make it work in a supra?Let me guess a lot:biglaugh:

Look to pay $3000-$4000 for a ls1 and t56 trans...hummmm maybe it would be better to go with the 1uz...but getting 350-400whp will be tough with out boost..sure it can be done.....prolly be radical though..i say 1uz with boost for the cheapest quickest alternitive...anyone else??

1uz will be extremely cheaper. You could do a 1uz with 150shot for the same price of the ls1 engine alone. Good luck getting a t56 for a swap included with the ls1 those only come from ws6 firebird and ss camaros and corvettes. Like I said prob 5k for that setup. You could do a twin turbo 1uz for that cost. Remember you would need custom mounts all around. It's just not worth it unless you're rich.
