Tweeter position for a 91

Do the stock speaker pods for a 91 have mounts for a tweeter?

I am thinking of buying this really nice set of tweeters but I am not sure where I will mount the tweeters. I am trying to keep this install as clean looking possible.

My car is in the shop so I cant really take a look.

There is no stock spot. Look at my build thread for what I did to mine. Keep in mind you cannot reverse the holes you cut in your door pannels (duhhh!)

the sail panels (little black triangles by the mirrors) are a good spot, but will require some tuning/positioning to get it to sound right

Just realized, you're planning on spending a good amount on them, i'd fiberglass them in that triangle spot stated above and you're going to want to get your whole system tuned afterward to fully benefit from those tweets.

After searching the webs for hours I found these little brackets that will mount the tweeter right on the speaker.

There sure is a stock spot on 91s and 92s. The factory 6.5 speaker mounts have a spot for a ~1 inch tweeter right at the top.

Well I have a set of factory 6.5 mounts. Did you buy the aftermarket set?

The 6.5" speaker pods I bought from an 91-92 supra had the spots for the tweeters. Only problem is they were small and I had to trim around where I wanted my tweeter to be to make it fit perfect.

My bad I didn't see that you said on the bracket, thought you meant by the a pillar.

IIRC there was an old thread in this section where someone said a certain year of celica convertible had tweeters in that triangle behind the mirrors and they were almost a perfect fit for our cars. Don't remember the year or if anything had to be modified to mount them however. Might be worth digging into if you were so inclined.

I have been reading in the 91-92 6.5 mounting boxes there was a small hole intended for better bass from the speaker which "could" be used for a tweeter. That doesn't entirely mean that is why it exists, but do as you will.
