A friend is considering selling his Glock 22 (40 S&W), and I need to know what it's worth. I think it's about 9 years old and has had no more than 40 rounds through it, so it's in like new condition. Any idea what I should offer?

I just bought this at a gun show yesterday...

$319, which puts it nicely below MSRP. This gun was manufactured by Beretta 10 years ago, and they moved the factory to Turkey when Beretta purchased Stoeger. It is the exact same tooling, etc and is virtually identical to the Beretta except that it's stamped with the Stoeger name and has an MSRP of $369 today versus about $600 back then.

I can't wait to shoot it. Safety class is on Saturday, and I will be applying for my CCW immediately after that. :bigthumb:

My family and I all chipped in on this for my dad. Haven't shot it yet, I want to see how it compares to my brothers Glock 22.

I've removed the flamebait and associated replies.

Bonus12, take your liberal silly bullshit to your own thread. Posting that shit in this thread is just going to incite a flamewar.

Back to our regularly scheduled program...

the .17 is supposed to shoot flatter and longer than the .22

you loose an teeny amount of mass..but on varmints..its not noticeable from what I've read.

I found out recently that I'll be inhereting my late Uncle's Mossberg 835 Pump Shotgun in 12 gauge, camo'd for use turkey hunting..along with a White's Muzzleloading systems .50 cal muzzleloader.

I'm lucky and stuff

I need some advice on choosing a good holster for my Cougar 8000.

I'd like to keep cost down, but have no idea what to consider since this is my first carry weapon.

Anybody?

Totally depends on where your going to carry.

Small of the back?
Side of hip?
Under your arm?
Calf/ankle?

If I'm wearing a coat, under my arm is most comfortable and hidden the best as I'm a big guy.

Small of the back works, but not when I'm sitting down.

Whatever you get, make sure it's comfortable, and concealed pretty well. (Otherwise, you might as well wear it out cowboy style!)

For rough duty/field use I've been using the Uncle Mike's Law Enforcement stuff for years:

The Uncle Mike's stuff is pretty cheap and durable as hell.

For my daily carry stuff I prefer Kramer Leather:

I'm currently carrying an FBI style forward tilt scabbard design:

It's about $100 and well worth the investment.

I use Don Hume leather for my IWB carry on my G19 and on my 1911 framed guns.

I'm thinking side of hip... It seems like the holsters that carry inside the pant seam would be more concealable but more uncomfortable.

Not uncomfortable at all. Plus it's the best way to carry if you don't want to print. I have mine at about ~430 (going by 12 hour coordinates), and have never had someone be able to tell I had one on me. Levis and a skateshirt aren't exactly super covering, but IWB slightly behind my side will disapear.

Thanks for the tips - I'll check them all out. I was worried about printing, but if you can completely conceal a 1911, then I shouldn't have any problems at all with an overall length of 7". Thanks! :bigthumb:

I have an Uncle Mike's shoulder rig, and Bianchi military with a flap I use when backpacking or outdoors. (I want them to see I'm armed at that time.)

I dont' carry all the time however. (Generally small of the back in summer, and shoulder during the winter.)

It's not easy hiding a Tarus PT 99 however. :)

Can't be much worse than my PT-945, and it conceals nicely.

Fits great next to the center console too:
