IMO the best option would be to drop a 4agze into the civic. FWD. Strong, reliable toyota block to start...but with all the money spent on doing that, would it not be easier to purchase and spoon a type r engine ?

Why would you put in a 4agze when a b16/b18 makes more power and will do it without forced induction? Add a turbo and you'll be able to make more power than the 4agze could ever hope to make.

Well as for an easier project than a civic but more costly-

Personally if I was to do something REALLY crazy in a civic, I'd go the SHOgun route and use one of the FWD V8's in the back...

i like the 4a motors a lot, you can get the GZE motor and have a super and turbo charge it, or just swap a turbo to it, and they also got the 20valve motor

Both are 1.6's

Then they have the same power potential. Unless one engine has a really lousy cylinder head. And since that Toyota engine had 7500 rpm redline or something, that isn't the case.

Technically true... however, the Honda engine has a lot more power parts available off the shelf. A fair bit more than we have for the Supra engines, for that matter - not as nice of a selection as the domestic V8s, mind you.

Do you have any experience with the 4age? You can argue, but the fact of the matter is that the the honda motors put out more power and can do it easier due to their design. The 4age is a good motor but it simply can't keep up with the b16/b18.
