Interesting that 89+ speedo went up but redline came down. Corporate think.

Coincidence. The only difference is the number is there on the 89+ vs. not on the pre89s. Some people mightve complained about the empty spot on their speedo

Actually 6M crank is 86.1 to 89.7, 89.8 and on had the 7M crank.

89.8 and on is 1990 model.

1989 and up have 160km speedometers, N/A or Turbo doesn't matter.

Interesting. So that would be cars made Sept/Oct 89+? I used 86.5 because thats the supposed first year of the MkIII, and 89.4/89.5 because somewhere in the year they changed, I just wasnt sure where.
Actually I'm going to start putting together the FAQ I've been meaning to compile for years

Not to be too picky, but the 7M crank is fully counter weighted...both the 7M & 6M cranks are balanced ;)

Thats what I meant, though there is certainly a difference.

Both are fully balanced yes, but counter-balanced means there is a balance to oppose the weight of the piston/rod, and we both know there was no weight to counter balance cylinders 2 and 5 on 6M cranks.

(PS: We are arguing semantics here.)
