Save my 88T thread... forNever ending..

Hi..my name is Casey I live in northern AZ.. Ive been into MK3 Supras for about 8+ years...Ive been Supra-less for about 6

Its always been a dream of mine to "save" a supra... So I got this car from a friend of mine (Zerocool on here)...It was just what I was looking for... It has its rough spots but its all workable and fixable. Its a 88 Turbo auto. Its missing alot, needs alot replaced..has 2 sawblades, 1 Lexus wheel, and one steelie...and maybe 9 lug nuts..lol PERFECT :icon_razz

Ive had the car for about a month but just bought my house and moved in a week ago.. finally got some time to work on it today! I have 3 cars...but the Supra shares the garage with no other car. :naughty:

What the car needs/plans/wants:
Front bumper (going 89+) DONE
Rear bumper (or rear add ons) DONE
Drivers fender
Fix rust spot on drivers rear fender DONE
89+ tail lights DONE
89+ spoiler DONE
The pass window was held up by a rope...lol need to get a motor in there
Carpet
Seats DONE
Door Panels
Targa top
Drivers side door handle DONE
a few misc interior pcs (not going w/ full interior)
Oh yeah...ENGINE AND TRANNY!!!!! TBA

Torn up seats? What is a decent priced good aftermarket seat?

Starting to take the interior apart..

The only real bad spot above the rear drivers fender, will need to find a patch panel.. Will a junkyard allow me to hack up a car?

Starting to work on a 2 seat conversion...dont know if I will keep the back high or not..I kind of like it.

Another...should look decent covered in grey carpet to match the paint.

Bad fender on top...NICE fender below

Side...not too bad, need to fill antenna hole.

Front taken apart. I need a bumper and good drivers fender.

I have more dash/center pcs not shown...are they save able? Not sure yet..

Its still a Toyota Supra.

Good part is, its just surface rust...will sand it down and prime it tomorrow.

Need new rear bumper OR rear add-ons...not sure what I will do yet.

More 2 seater conversion.. Yes there is supports under the flat peice. I can store stuff on it and it wont break..

Yet another one....It fits in there perfectly...nice and snug.

Not sure on the motor yet...but it wont be a 7M...Well unless I find a really great deal on one.

Oh yeah, going to re-spray the exterior, engine bay, and part of the interior the stock color.

Well the 1jz is a very good engine, so is the 2jz's. That's if you are trying to stay away from the 7m. I am going to be going the NA-t route with the 2jz-ge from what I hear they are good for 600hp without a problem.

Just bought 3pc spoiler, center console around the radio.

Pulled the dash and im getting all the interior pieces ready to dye.

I have a friend with a 88MR2 who is giving me some great conditioned seats. Hopefully they look good...if we can even fit them in there, lol..

Spoiler came in broken bad on the drivers side, so I had to use some fiberglass to repair it, which ive never done before..but it came out good.

Painted the dash and put that back in along with the new center console..

I NEED THIS CUT OUT. DOES ANYONE HAVE A OLD JUNK SHELL THEY CAN CHOP UP? PM ME!

Should be getting some new bumpers within a few weeks also if I can ever find time to go get them!

Well, I am hoping to get the bumpers, drivers fender, targa and all paint supplies by Christmas... So hopefully the start of the year I can get that going, if not before! Thats if I can find a patch panel for my rust spot

Then maybe engine/trans for my tax return present, I should be getting ALOT back...But we will see what the house needs then..

I guess I figured out what im going to do with the engine now...picking it up on 10/25.

Sorry guys for no pics lately..

Here is a pretty big update! I picked up a 2JZ-GE with a new full gasket kit, Full engine harness & new bearings..For only $250! It has 170k so obviously I will be ripping it open before boosting it... Here is some pics..

The first thing I did was powdercoat the valve covers black and some misc water pipes chrome(high polished silver) and painted the plastic piece red...I got bored. I also had to clean the head for an hour or so to get it to look even like this..

I also started to clean the engine bay..holy shit almost every square inch was covered in grime and other nasty crap... I'll start sanding this down and maybe primer it this week hopefully.

I also tore some ligaments in my ankle today at work...so I'll be out money for a few weeks...

^yes, the rest of everything is in that box, thats not all, lol.

I am not on AZSupraCentral. I would say keep working on what ever you can, come interior stuff can easily be done without much cost, but parts are all about having money. How would i join AZSupraCentral?

A bit of an update!

Bought a welder on sunday so I can move forward with the rust repair.. I got the old shit cut out. I still have to trim it up so it fits perfect..so tomorrow I will weld it up If I get off early..

I also got most of the engine bay primed! It wasnt as bad as I thought either..
