So your saying the length of a rod does not determine how easly a rod bends? It is a factor when you look at the buckling of materials...

The thread title says "safe" numbers. 230hp is what the toyota engineers viewed as safe enough for the general public. I had a 74MM turbo on my old 7M :p

From my experience, anything under 500rwhp, the stock ecu is the way to go. With an AFC or similar piggyback it's super easy and consistant. Just don't go crazy with the boost. I usually ran around at 17psi (about 400rwhp) with pump gas. For 24psi and the track, I just threw in some C16 and the AFR's were still perfect.

I will stress that anything under 400rwhp is safe :)

...unless you're using a standalone and have a really good tuner.

I've learned that "safe" really depends on your driving habits, maintenance, and the Tune. There are certainly ways to produce more than 400rwhp....but I start to question the reliability after 400rwhp w/o taking these things into consideration.
