Ive got arp head and main studs and HKS stopper head gasket from an engine that bent some valves. Question is are any of these reusable? Thanks in advance.

I reused mine after I got a stuck valve, but I rebuilt the same motor and head, not sure if you want to use it on another motor or the same one. If you want use the gasket on the other motor I would advise against it, arps are fine.

I reused mine from another engine due too lack of funds and the mhg i got was too thick.I removedthe rivits cleaned it up and soaked all of it in copper gasket and it has held so far.But id rather have a new gasket in there.Using a used one is not a great idea.I also have a 2jz waiting too drop in so the used mhg was just a bandaid too get me by.

Yeah it will be for a different engine and I thought that using the gasket would be a good idea but it has flourine coating on it and some parts of it came off and makes me nervous using it. Thanks for the input

I've reused metal head gaskets without any issues. I've used one in three different engines now, and it's still running strong.

You do need to clean all the coating off every layer - so you'll have to pull the rivets and clean each layer separately. I also used copper spray after it was clean.

I've used ARP hardware over and over again - never had any of their hardware fail to date.

I reused MHG's 4 times each before retiring them to the bin, ARP's I'd replace the Nuts/washers every 5th install, and the studs at the 10th, NOT because I've seen any data suggesting I should just for peace of mind.

Peace of mind is worth a few $$$... and realistically, new bolts / studs are *not* a big investment.

I also swapped out the ARP 2000's in my Pauter rods even though Brian Pauter said it's not needed ever ;)
(lost a rod bolt in a BBC many years ago so a touch paranoid)

Most of it came out the bottom of the engine and landed on the road, 1 rocker cover and the intake manifold were the only undamaged parts...

Even punched parts of the Cam out the back of the engine breaking the block and taking out the driveplate and torque converter..

IJ, what exactly happened in your BBC? I guess it just doesn't make sense to me how a broken rod bolt can lead to a broken camshaft lol

Wow Ij that's nuts that your cam got destroyed. Thanks for your info these arp's will be on their second install same as the gasket but when I inspected and cleaned the head gasket it had a Knick on one of the sealing rings/ edge that faces inside the cylinder. A valve stuck open and obliterated the head and cylinders I'll get some pics up

It's a bit chicken/egg not really sure what let go first just that it sounded like a Top Fueal lean out when it went!!

Sort of funny part was it happened in a back street near where I lived so we just pushed the car back to the hill then rolled home to tear it down (after sweeping most of the bits in the pic off the road)

Correct answer lol and I meant to put "the head is trashed" not dead. It's got some deep scoring not even going to attempt to machine and clean up its that bad. But everything else on the bottom end is good.
