i don't know of many RC enthusiasts in supramania. i hope this is a good place to start some.
modifying my supra is what i love, and "modifying" in the rc world is a never ending stream of new experiments.

i also like drag racing, and while looking for drag supras on youtube, i saw rc cars drag racing.
next thing you know im modifying and drag racing everything in sight.

what you see are gassers, and i run my race motors on sunoco 107 and amsoil sabre premix @ 40:1

these are 1/5th scale cars, so the standard 132ft drag strip is a scaled down 1/8mile track for me

my fastest time slip is 2.48 @ 132ft : 55mph with the purty blue car :naughty:

i miss those days...had a couple of tmaxx gassers i kept in the truck for downtime

no pics, was a few years ago.

fun story though, was in a truckstop in iowa messin around with one of em. chick with a smokin body walked by. i forgot about the 8lb monster truck runnin wfo towards the fuel pumps. looked like a cartoon scene, parts flying everywhere. only parts i could salvage off of it were the rpm a-arms. damn that was an expensive hobby

got all the shells online
Supra is made by ABCHobby (came with light buckets and 3pc wing too)
Subaru, Skyline, and Sylvia made by HPI
Hachi Roku's were customized by someone else, and i bought them thru a r/c drift forum.

i'm not talkin crashes resulting from bad driving lol! ...cause my bad driving and setup habits made it very expensive and discouraging at first.

my first nitro is a T-maxx. upgrades really wasn't all that much. what i hated was paying for nitro fuel at $35 a gallon.

when i found out that largescales run on pump gas... it was a no brainer! i can get aviation gas (100 octane) here for $5 a gallon... that was all good until i found out the upgrades cost much more on a largescale,

at first, not much luck with the models for me until i learned which key items to buy and how to set them up properly... they last much longer on a tight setup with good upgrades.

i always wanted to try the 5th scale stuff...but lost interest before i got around to it. and my modded tmax was really a sport max, about a pound lighter, 2wd, no reverse. i put the 2 speed box in it, and damn the thing would fly...

Have you ever heard of a drag strip just east of San Antonio Tx? On weekends they get together and drag. It's a actual scaled down drag strip. Ive never been but it can be seen from i10.

i'm not sure which track that is.

the RC drag lights we use in new orleans east can be seen from the I-10. we race on saturday nights.

i would host an rc drag meet if some of us wanted one. already got a timing system.

all you'd have to bring is your supra's, the rc's, and drinks.:icon_razz

the ABC hobby supra comes with a clear body shell, clear light buckets, and clear 3piece wing (its 2 pieces in this kit).
you'd have to paint it yourself.

Here's mine.... I started off the year with about 3 or so and now I have over 13 or so. Some are my wife's though.....

Top Shelf, Stampede, AE B4
Middle - Bolink Legend, RJ Speed Legend, Bolink Digger, 3.3 Revo (brushless now), Hyper 7 (brushless)
Bottom - My 4x4 Slash, AE TC4, Wife's AE TC4, Wife's Slash 4x4

Not pictured, boat and a few misc cars that are floating around....

Almost all are brushless (converting the 2 legends once I find some more VXL 3s combos) and all are now lipo powered.... Did nitro once, never again...:3d_frown:

I couldve had a good 400whp supra if i hadnt plunged into r/c. Ive had ALOT of cars, trucks and planes as well as operating (with friends) one of the best privately owned r/c forums on the internet. These are just what ive had pictured. Ill try to explain some stuff i did to them also.

p1750525_1.jpg

Blade CX2, Completely stock just a bigger lipo

p1750525_2.jpg

Wild Wing, braced with CF, double the power to weight. Does about 80 on a 7x5 prop and will glide all day.

p1750525_3.jpg

Multiplex pico jet, Exactly the same setup as the wing just in a heavier airframe.

p1750525_4.jpg

Slow Stick, 3:1 power to weight ratio, 2200 3s lipo, Custom built V tail, Aluminum landing gear, and a box that would either drop stuff out of it with a servo activated door or carry a camera for filming flights: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cIpi7VhVlKI&list=FLwZYAGn7hP3J4QoP1lh-i_Q&index=201

p1750525_5.jpg

GWS funny park, First aileron plane ever, Same power system as the wild wing and picojet, Very fast but very heavy and i didnt like how it rolled or landed so i traded it for the slow stick.

p1750525_6.jpg

p1750525_7.jpg

p1750525_8.jpg

p1750525_9.jpg

p1750525_10.jpg

Blow out at 60mph:
p1750525_11.jpg

Traxxas slash, Multiplex radio gear, Tires/rims, Front bumper mod and Feiago 8L Brushless motor, Mamba ESC, was on 12 cells NIMH then it was put on 3s lipo. Did about 65-70

p1750525_12.jpg

p1750525_13.jpg

p1750525_14.jpg

p1750525_15.jpg

p1750525_16.jpg

p1750525_17.jpg

Traxxas Nitro Stampede, Dynamite 12s (custom cut crank before they started making the 12s in short crank), Ported, gasket matched and stripped Losi XXXNT full exhaust, Optional gearing, Tmaxx springs with cut fronts adjusted to the way i liked, Custom drilled shock pistons, Inner fuel tube bump stops to keep the front low and the a arms level for better handling, Uber fast throttle/brake servo, Duratrax ball bearings in everything and as you can see toward the end the whole power system from the slash above went into it with a 3s lipo. I loved this truck!

p1750525_18.jpg

p1750525_19.jpg

Traxxas Emaxx, Got it for free, Stock as hell and i beat the shit out of it. Traded straight up for the slash when it was
stock.

p1750525_20.jpg

p1750525_21.jpg

p1750525_22.jpg

p1750525_23.jpg

HPI Wheely King, Cut down savage TVP Chassis, Custom cut tmaxx shafts, Turnigy 55t lathe motor, Locked axles and center diff, 2lbs of led in the wheels, 133oz servos front and rear with 4WS, 6 cell for the motor 5 cell for the servos and radio gear, Bitchin bug body painted by me, Turnigy steering links, Shaved stock tires. First crawler and i loved it!

p1750525_24.jpg

p1750525_25.jpg

p1750525_26.jpg

HPI Rs4-3 SS Mildly rare kit, HPI rims with venom belted tires, Full tuned exhaust, Peak performance .15 Diablo motor, HPI big filter, Optional tall gearing, MPI 3 stage clutch, Reverse tank mod to keep the fuel lines away from the pinion, MPI onboard temp gauge, HPI firebird body that i ran out of paint on, This car was a monster, It rarely had traction and it would do 70-75 all day. I loved it but i moved to a place where onroads were impossible to run so i sold it. Biggest regret ever.

p1750525_27.jpg

HPI original rs4, Stock as can be!! First nitro ever, I ran this everywhere, Onroad, offroad, when the belts broke, I ran it fwd and rwd, I beat the snot out of this and then traded it for a Losi NXT.

p1750525_28.jpg

p1750525_29.jpg

p1750525_30.jpg

p1750525_31.jpg

p1750525_32.jpg

p1750525_33.jpg

p1750525_34.jpg

XTM Mammoth ST, Stock and monstrous, I beat this hard and put it away wet many times. I ended up selling it after i bent the chassis on it and asked XTM about this on one of their forums after writing a story about it on mine, Where they called me a liar and said i bent the chassis in a vice, That their braces would hold it and not bend. A month and an apology later they introduced the XXT on the same platform. With different CNC machined aluminum full braces in place of the plastic ended bars.

p1750525_35.jpg

p1750525_36.jpg

p1750525_37.jpg

p1750525_38.jpg

p1750525_39.jpg

Losi NXT, This quickly became a parts bin truck after i spent a good $200 just on parts for it, It got an engine swap twice, Once with the stampede where it lost its Dynamite and then again when i put the Peak Diablo .15 that i bought for it into the rs4-3, It ended up running the nitrate sleeved POS HPI 12rss motor that came stock in the rs4-3SS and after i tried rebuilding the ball diff 5 times spending $30 each time i traded it away only to learn that the instructions had me putting a washer in the wrong place and the new owner fixed it in 5 minutes. Live and learn.

Right now i still have the Wild wing and this little vintage car:

p1750525_40.jpg

p1750525_41.jpg

Kyosho Wheely popper, Use to be nitro, converted to electric with a 400 series glider motor and a duratrax esc, it runs on a 2s lipo with a savage transmission gear as a pinion on a prop adapter for a plane. Its Geared 1:1. It will do a good 50 on the back wheels and if you dont get it right it will crash horribly. No suspension. Straight axle. I rarely run it anymore because these are so rare and impossible to find parts for.

Sorry for the huge post! I hope you all enjoy!
