how much pressure is safe for injectors?

a guy decided to set my fuel pressure at 44 with vacuum line still attached which is 14 psi more than the max pressure per tsrm. Would that extra 14psi of pressure cause damage to the injectors? the inj. are 550cc ( I dont know why the raised fp that high but it caused my car to run like utter crap!!!)

nope. you'll need to be over 100 psi before things get weird....then again, who knows if your fuel lines/pump could take that.

well it was set at 44 with vac line on and running 15 psi boost ,so overall about 60 psi at wot. My #4 plug was completely washed clean. I am just hoping nothing was messed up.

how long was it run like that? running uber rich for extended periods of time can cause fuel to seep past the rings and into your oil, thus thinning it out, and reducing it's lubricative properties, which, of course, can lead to rod knock.

if it happened quickly, you probably don't have to worry. if you've been running it like that for a while, i'd change the oil.

they ran it about 25 miles on the dyno and then the 15 miles I drove it to my house.

eh, i'd change my oil, but i'm very anal about general maintenance. (for example: when the starter died on my '94 toyota pickup, i spent about an hour trying to get it to start, as i was at the bottom of a hill, and by myself at about 1 am.

i didn't want to call anyone for help. when i finally got it started (and it was massively flooded because every time you turn it over, it injects fuel)- i drove it straight home (about 5 miles) and parked it. i drove the supra to the parts store the next day and changed the oil because i was afraid of it being thinned out. haha. that's my .02 psi

Shaeff, when it is flooded, hold the pedal to the floor. This works in every EFI car that I know of, but I don't know that it works in every car.

Typically it is called clear flood mode, and injection is cut to 20%.

V6 pickup? That starter is a fucker to get out.
