From what I see it is mostly style for many. It is the new fad but many people fail at making it look good. Another thing I learned is that in drifting many stretch the rear so it gives a stiffer sidewall which in turn makes the drifts more predictable where as a fat tire can fold over and flex at any given time making it less predictable.

Nice pics! Looks like that guy messed up his widebody a little.. Did he just smack the wall so hard it broke the rear window?
