Finally got rid of 51. I adjusted the TPS old school method.

Closed throttle my SAFCII is reading 0.560V. If i move even to .565 i will get 51 again. Problem is when i hit full throttle its only to to 3.6XX volts. So one, the safc isn't reading 100% throttle and two, how does the ECU respond to this? will it learn its at 100% or must it see the standard 4.0+volts

could this be cause maybe b/c my throttle plate is out of adjustment?

edit: FYI TPS has 6K miles on it.

there is the accelerator cable and the linkage across the top of the engine that both have adjustments.

Outside of that, the TPS wasn't adjusted right or needs to be replaced...

Do yourself a favor. pull the throttlebody off, grab a spare TPS connector from a junkyard car, strip the ends, and adjust it according to the TSRM. Once you get the hang of adjusting it off the car (do it several times to familiarize yourself with the process), you'll likely have very few problems ever adjusting it again, even on the car.

Grabbing a spare TPS harness was one of the best cheap mods I've done to date. It makes things SO easy. ;)

The ECU doesn't care what your max voltage is. Or if it does, it doesn't care if it's in the 3.7 range... that's what mine has always been, and it doesn't seem to be a problem.

As long as you have the closed throttle point set properly, and there aren't dead spots through the range, you should be ok.

i will try this down the road, i just needed to make sure the computer would still "understand" its getting WOT.....my schedule is just far too hectic right now with school kickin into full swing, hw, tests and the worst of all, lab reports :nono:.

dunno how on earth you could adjust the TPS on the car as you can't get by the Idle Control to get to the screws. Removing the idle control is harder than just takeing the throttle body off IMHO...

Not to mention getting a feeler gauge down where it needs to be..

ISC takes 5-10minutes tops to remove, 2 bolts, 3 hoses ;)
afterwhich you have a clear shot tothe TPS.

i'd take me that long just to loosen the 4 t-clamps and couplers to remove the pipe to the TB.
