any update on the condition of the block?

It's still at the machine shop.

Went ahead and Replaced

Oil pump
Piston Rings
Head gasket (Arp Head Studs)
Clevite Rod and Main bearings
3 angle valve Job

And got everything hot tanked and cleaned

all and all machine work is $1200-1400 is what i was quoted

I went all out and bought all new sensors and components and pumps also.

is the machine shop assemblying the engine as well?

i was quoted 300-400 for:

decking block and head for flat.

a hone

and a balance

and im pretty sure they were going to clean all the components.

id like to see some pics of all these shiny/new parts when they come in.. it'll provide that much needed boost to get my 2jz swap done LOL! :naughty:

Yeah they had to drill out the 3 bolts to get the head and they disassembled and reassembled the block and head.

Everyone i talked to said they were by far the best shop in Tucson but pricey so i figured i'd stick with them and hopefully end up with a good engine

I may be able to get you a divided t3 housing, so get that divided one, I've purchased flanges from that same company, they have quality work

well since they are building the engine. id say that's actually pretty decent in my book. btw i have a t3/t4 turbo adapter. its counter sunk on the t4 holes and threaded in the t3 holes. basically is to run a t3 turbo on a t4 manifold.. lmk if your interest

I'm getting some Coils From George he said that are in really good shape. $85 a coil is crazy so if i don't have to i'm gonna wait.

Don't do the fuel yet. Sure, you can do the pump and AFPR. Leave the injectors last. You will need to tune and trust me, the JZ computers are funny, especially 1JZ ones. So instead of figuring out why your car is running rich and thinking its not tuned right and what not, just leave them last.

You want to fiddle with fuel mixture on a freshly rebuilt motor, especially with a piggyback? I think not.

This is coming from one of the few guys who spends money.

Anyone else agree?
