The 1j has the better head, and the 2j has the better block. Better turbo cause there steel in usdm and more ccs in the injector displacement

Talking about stock to stock. And I was referring to what was said a few pages back when they were going back n forth about 1j 2j. Just stating how peak power no matter the build the 1j handles it better at peak or high rpms

600 rpms o make a difference causeif you can spool a turbo faster from 5600 rpms to 4900 rpms you have more power a Lil bit longer

Which in physics makes you just a Lil bit faster then before.

Your right 600 rpms don't make a difference I'm wrong.

So what about all the 2jzs Reving to 10k+ rpm?

Not only that, are you high or completely and utterly retarded? Are you shifting at 6k? Do you know how to brake boost? Are you running a 3 speed Honda tranny that bring your rpm from 7k to 4k? Then you'd have to worry about that 600 rpm

1j's have really good port velocity and 2j's have good flow...port velocity (the speed the air travels and where it travels) and flow (how much air you can push through) are two different things i believe he is getting that mixed up... IMO if your looking for HIGH HP then a 2j would be a good platform, but if you want MID HP a 1j is a good platform.

IN NO WAY is a 1j better for higher HP...not saying they cant make high HP just they are not better for it...


BTW: i helped put this car together as well as a few others in this thread if you think i don't know shit...

that is what i am talking about, i was getting my material together to show the ports and compare the two. which i may say the 1jz ports are bigger than the 2js. i know that the 2j is better than the 1j simply because it is the second gen of the 1j. i only mean that the 1j was better cause the opening design created for the 1j was beast.
