sorry to say 1jz are way better then the 2j. yea nice to have forged internals blah blah and a stock block can be a dyno queen handle up to 1000 horses. but hey 500 hp 1j will walk a 1000 hp 2j cause the fucker wont hook! also to mention a 1j Peak Power : 280PS (206 kW) @ 6200rpm
Peak Torque : 37.0 kgm (268 lb ft, 363 Nm) @ 4800rpm 2j■Max Power: 209 @ 5600 (280 hp)
■Torque (nm) 46.0 @ 3600 (338ft/lb )those shorter rods and yahmaha heads is what does the trick for the 1j... meaning it can hold the power better at higher rpms.

The 1j is stronger and more reliable, and of course sounds sexier. But coming from a 1jz fan boy. The 2jzs extra stroke makes way more power.

Did I miss all the 1000+hp 1js. 2js made more power in the states. Either extremely noobish fanboy or youve been reading the wrong info. Anyways Albert has done alot to prove that 1js are a great motor and very comparable 2j.

I always thought that was the weirdest thing how supras are like, the only Japanese car where the us version are better.

2jzs are so better then 1jzs.

Yes I think 1jzs sound better, yes I think they are rev happy, and even the tuner said he loves the way the 1jzs rev.

But from a power making stand, it'll take me more fuel, bigger turbo and a longer rev to keep up with those 2jzs.

Then next mod will be a QSV so I can try and get that 2jz spool.

We all know the 2j makes power. But power to performance a 1jz out shines the 2j. There's not to much you can do with a 1000hp 2j besides go straight, say 2j 550-600 horses and match it to a 1j with the same hp. Having the high rev happy head nd longer rev limiter 1j wins but I will take in considering that the 2j does make more torque. The only reason it cost more to build a one jay its because the internals aren't forged like the two jays. If they were no1 would be running two jays.
