i drink a lot less caffeine now than i did in high school. i'm down to an energy drink a day and a few cups of coffee.

in high school my friends bet me that i couldn't go a week without any caffeine. by lunch, the headache started, by dinner it was a migraine and i cracked before 2nd period the next day.

I don't like water, so I drink soda, and only coke or pepsi will do...

I used to drink TONS of tea (not cold, hot, and I like it damn near black with tons of sugar), I came down off that and crashed HARD, headache to the point of nausea, ect...

caffeine is a nasty drug, if caffeine free coke or pepsi was available everywhere (like work) it would be a lot easier to get off of it...

If i don't have a coffee by 9am, i get a headache... I got a whole day, and i get a migraine.

Life without caffeine is a life not worth living :D

I took a year off from university, and worked full time switching back and fourth between daytime shifts, and night time shifts, EVERY WEEK. I would work 3 days overnight, have 1 day off, work 1 day shift, 1 day off, then 1 day shift, and start it all over again. Needless to say, my sleep schedule was FUCKED UP. I started drinking a serious amount of caffeine especially at work, as we have a free soda fountain where I would just fill up my 1L water bottle several times a shift.

It became apperant that the caffeine was no longer doing anything to keep me awake, so I told myself that I was going to try to go without caffeine for 2 weeks, and see how I felt. The hardest part was finding something else to drink, as I was so used to having an energy drink, or bottle of cola with me at all times. I started drinking water at home, and juice at work (Or iced tea. The Lipton stuff has very little caffeine).

Anyways, after 2 weeks, I felt great. It's been over a year since I did this. I have more energy then I did before, and sleep better too. I never regret giving up caffeine.

I still have a can of coke every now and again. I love that stuff.

CK- my bro went through the same thing. 1 redbull with lunch every day gave him headaches on weekends. it took him a bit to catch on why he was getting headaches every weekend, but he stopped cold turkey. now he drinks water. :)

When i first stopped drinking caffiene i crashed bigtime... Headaches... No energy... The works... I feel awesome though now that all of that shit is out of my body. Now if i drink soda or something like that i feel like i am going to have a heart attack. ha.
I did the same thing. I used to drink Coco-Cola at the office, but none on the weekends, and I was always suffering from a nasty headache on the weekends. Took me a while to figure out what was causing it, but eventually I tried drinking coke on the weekends too, and the headaches vanished.

On the theory that anything causing me pain can't be a good thing, I quit drinking caffiene on the spot. Took me a good 6 months to get used to living without it, but now I just don't need it anymore.
