is that a stock vf11? or a td04?

its a TD05-16g

update on the car, had it running, had a big misfire, turns out the cam gear was different as well as the timing gear. but the timing belt slipped and bent some valves, so i pulled the motor and currently have the heads off the old motor at the machine shop, gonna throw that back together with all new seals, pumps, gaskets, etc

weve cleaned the interior completely (except the seats, those will be professionally steam cleaned) also ordered some factory floormats from subaru

Stupid interference heads... Sorry to hear that Ben. Not to go off topic, but my mind has stumbled upon the thought of what a boxer 8 would sound like...

it would probably sound so good it would sound bad (sounds odd but probably true)

the heads are finally done, and we gave the car a good wash.

got it running today with a stock top mount, then started with the FMIC kit............which didnt fit worth a shit on the cold side. so having to modify that, then go get it welded up.

well, ive been driving it around the past couple days, runs really cool (comes 1/4 of the way up the gauge at full temp) and pulls pretty hard, still needs a tune, runs a lil rough on startup

and the steering rack took a shit, dumped all the fluid out in less than 5 minutes. already got a replacement and got it on, but the damn nuts for the tie rod ends stripped, so waiting on those tomorrow.

Zav's, you are the man! My oldest son is autistic as well, so I get the social adaption needs.

Jay (Suprahero) is the only one here that knows this, but my car will more than likely go to my son as well (severely de-tuned). I had an outragous offer two years ago for my car, but I turned it down because my (then) 13 year old autistic son threw a fit, so my wife demanded that I keep it. She promised me that she would buy me my dream car when I retire if I gave my car to him, so in two years or so I will give him my car and pick up a Factory Five GTR to build in my free time :)

Let me know if I can do anything to assist you

Nice transformation, even if you didn't have it painted yet.

I had my first wrx driving experience few days back, impressive.
I didn't take her to the limit but I enjoyed the tuned 20g under the hood and navigating rush hour on the hwy.
Balanced feel, responsive, plenty of rebound if one was to take to chicanes all day long.

Good for you to be so generous to your brother, its a rare thing

What is the stock boost controll? Does it have factory electronic controll like so many new cars do? Or is it manual control like the MA70? My youngest brother has one, I think it could use BPU upgrades if that is possible on these rides. I would do the exhaust and increase the boost to the max amount on pump gas.

Nice build! one of my cousins is autistic, although his is very severe and he has some other issues, but I know how it goes. It's nice to see that you are doing this for him. I'm sure he will appreciate it VERY much and like you said, it should do good things for his social interaction at school. Anyway good luck working out all the bugs.

The 03 i drove was on MBC since the factory EBC doesn't really keep up with RPMs in 4th and 5th after upgrades begin (bigger exhaust, divorced downpipe)
It was described as bouncing above and below the target pressure and not really settling in time before shifting.
