I was wondering where i can find an upgraded lower control arm with a reinforced mounting tab for the rear sway bar. I believe HPF has them but are there any other providers out there? Please state the brand, price and name of shop that you bought it from thanks.

Here's a pic of what im talking about.

That looks nice and shiny in the pic, but the way that tab is mounted is probably weaker then the stock one. :nono:
Look how much leverage there is with the spacer off the side of the tab. The tab needs to be reinforced or it will bend.
It should be actually be mounted lenghtwise. Also, you can see the bolt hits the heim because they didn't put a high misalignment spacer on the other side. If I showed that pic on my favorite prerunner website I would get laughed at.

Few days ago I lifted my front wheels with hydraulic jack. To dismantle my front sway bar I had to lift it quite high. Heard loud clunk from the rear, when I drove my Supra from the garage it drifted to the side. Look what I found

Sway bars are Suspension Techniques, rear on the "less stiff" mounting hole. I understand that if one side compressed sway bar pushes another side down via the control arm. But I never expected it to break welding on control arm. There are no signs of crack or other damage on the arm.

Two days ago broke left control arm, this time it was at speed around 45-50mph.

Results:

Luckily nobody got hurt, I swerved and hit 2 parked cars. 2 days before accident I received 2 control arms with fitted OEM bushings from dealer and was going to change my old arms. I think my nylon bushings allow less degree of freedom and stress arms on less then perfect roads too much. I am returning back to OEM bushings

I think that is just a bad spot to put a hard bushing, because the arm will need to piviot as it goes up and down. A tie rod would be a better choice to go there.

100% right, too bad I learned it so hard way.

Ian, car was in accident, but not that bad and rear was not damaged
