bov question

has anyone had any problems with your blow off valve not working??

i have it connected to the tube that originally went to the stock bypass valve but its not opening at all
check the spring, 15psi spring
checked that the valve was oiled properly and not stuck

everything seemed fine but i still cant get it to simply open

Try a dedicated vacuum source to the manifold.

Tell us what type of BOV your using.

Stock setup is dedicated, it just routes in such a way to be pretty (yes they designed the engine to look nice).

It ends up going off that large port off the front of the intake manifold, run a line to it and see if it works then. If it does (so you rule out the BOV), you can clean out and replace the old lines so it doesn't look stupid...

also, just to make sure, the vacuum tube that connects the stock bypass valve should be connected to the larger part of the vacuum junction underneath the intake manifold correct?

I know the stock one is dedicated, however, it has many places that are susceptible to leaks by design. I mean run one single vacuum hose from the manifold to the BOV. That way there are only two possible locations for a leak in the vacuum source.

True. I've been giving serious thought to making SS hardpipes for my vacuum lines. I only have a few of them, anyway. The only problem with that is the fact that I'll have more joints to watch for failure, but overall the line would never leak.

Just something I've been tossing around.

I drilled and put this fitting in the stock 90 that comes out of the front intake and feeds all the vac lines.

still get bov flutter but it did help.

That 90 doesn't feed all of them, it feeds JUST the BOV IIRC...
