BIC DDP - Worth getting the options with it?

Any BIC DDP owners out there that could shed some light on whether getting the flex section and ceramic coating are worth it. Couldn't I just give it a couple coats of high temp paint and some heat wrap? Is the flex section really necessary for fitment issues? <---I care more about this than the latter question. I'm trying to get a downpipe and exhaust for under 1K but still have quality. Thx guys.

Flex section will definitely be good as it keeps the joints from cracking / breaking apart as it is not rigid. Also helps during installation.
Ceramic coating definitly is a plus to keep temperatures down, but if you can do that yourself, than its kool

Nothing beats a ceramic coating, I wouldn't bother with that high-temp paint it will probably burn off, as far as the heat wrap, I've heard it can trap moisture in and cause your pipes to rust.

If you don't want it REALLY loud, get it re-routed

I got the DDP awhile ago, still haven't had the chance to installed it, and I already regret not getting it ceramic coated, and now that I've gotten a ride in a DDP'ed Supra, I probably should've gotten it rerouted The wideband port is a good idea, but I don't like how close he mounts it to the turbine, not the recommended distance for a WBo2 sensor

As far as the flex section, i've heard from more than a few people who've been running a DDP for a couple years without one, and haven't had any problems.

i would recomend.......

ceramic coating
no flex
not rerouted.

the DDP design is much better, and sounds awesome when it opens up! and it will be completly quiet when your not on boost.

Get the flex section.

Speed bumps are your enemy and you want the flex section to take the abuse, not your turbo/exhaust mani/engine mounts.

The first tunnel you go throught a 10 PSI as full throttle will make you shiver.

Ceramic - if you can aford it, why not.
Re-married - If you want all the performance with out the volume this is or you.

I have a BIC DDP-R and test pipe with a HKS Dragger cat back.

I picked up one of the first ones, before the re-routed option was available. I'm still not sorry. I recently gave it back to him to have the ceramic coating added, I should have just done that from the start.

Oh, and no flex section either, but I have solid motor mounts too, so it wouldn't help as much. I avoid speed bumps like a disease.

i like and dislike the exhaust leak sound (wastegate closed). i like how it reminds me enough of what open downpipe sounded like, it does sound pretty nasty just burpin the throttle. but, sometimes i'd just would rather have it quiet..

but it's kinda lame on stock boost cus i have the damn thing opening all the time.

mine is not ceramic coated, i shoulda gave it some spray paint to protect it, and its not flexy, i'd prefer flexy, i do bottom out a little. i'm not even that low.

flex section SAVES the exhaust manifold studs, it's worth it...

I dunno, I like both, wish I could get a cutout or something to flip between a full DDP and rerouting it...
