That is a very clean engine bay, for certain. 1UZ is not my favorite engine though, it really doesn't make enough HP stock (The LS400 is sufficiently brick-ish to need the torque though).

Perhaps a supercharger would gain some more interest?

how'd he get that legalized if 1UZ's never came in any Cressida, newer or not..?

Doesn't have to have come in the same car, just has to be newer than the chassis it's going into, last time I checked.

Of course, a 2JZ could drop in without notice, eliminating the annoyance of dealing with smog referees. A 1UZ is not quite as stealthy.

Is that your website in your sig? I'm thinking about doing a 1UZ swap into my MK3 so I'm curious. What are good sites for 1UZ information and even more importantly 1UZ mods and replacement parts?

Lextreme.com is a good place to start. Although some of my friends have been unhappy with their products. it's still a good place to get information.
and there's good info right here on supramania! There's at least 2 other people doing 1uz swaps on this forum right now.

Kinda random but do you mind telling me some cool things about the 1UZ that I might not know? I spent a little time reading about it last night and I'm hooked on the idea of putting one in now. I checked out your site cool stuff. I will check lextreme and the builds on here.

it's designed like a full out race block with 6 bolt mains.
You can rev the crap out of them unlike oldschool v8's
They can be found for as little as 250$ Complete, and I've heard of people getting them for less. I think the guy with this car got his for 150$ and it runs without a single issue.
The block is somewhere in the range of 150 Lbs lighter than the 7m!
Hemi type combustion chamber.
and the list goes on and on and on....

i love these motors. its not uncommon for them to go 400k+ miles, the valves never seem to need adjustment. the only common failure i see, is that EGR tube behind the right head cranks, causing a very hard to get to exhaust leak. anyone else seen this on their swapped motors?
