I've been neglecting my 7m and bought a new 1jz car I'm fixing up. Today I rewired the Alternator, both power cable and connector, as well as fabbed a bracket for the powersteering reservoir and moved the fuse box. I also trimmed up some Cougar fans to fit on the radiator.
You're right, it shouldn't matter. It would all depend on the releif valve. At what point does it start to open to bleed volume off? It may be rather low pressure or the springs are suffering from major fatigue because I've seen several reports of increased oil pressure at idle with shimmed...
As I said, I couldn't care less about your setup. But you continued to bring the focus of the thread to your setup and figuring you're looking for input on it or something I added it. I guess it is my fault that I didn't make that point clear in my original post, and my follow up wasn't...
I'm not sure why you added your custom setup into this thread then? Its pure anecdotal evidence without any data, but you're determined to make the comments about full flow vs your setup. Using the pro-con list between your setup and a full flow the pros would be the lack of soft lines in the...
Your Pro-cons list for full flow vs stock system then expanding on the loss of pressure through the lines. I commented my thoughts on it. I couldn't care less about your specific setup, just commenting regarding the stock vs full flow. If you want input on your setup I can add that if you wish.
Yeah, exactly as Pi said. I'm basically saying its a non-issue, especially when talking versus the stock bleeder style cooler which has a far greater loss of pressure than a few feet of line.
The only real issue with pressure loss through the lines would be at idle, but flow would be small so the effect is very minimal. At speed the stock system would be a lot more detrimental to the pressure than the few extra feet of lines. Combine the full flow system with an upgraded Pressure...
I went with the hall/digital cps upgrade (I haven't received it yet). I was toying with the idea of a crank wheel and sensor, but was a lot of hassle. I doubt I'll run cams (upgraded springs) and will be relatively low power, so the cps should be fine. Now I just need to finish putting the car...
hahah, well see.. if the 60-1 reaches my goals thats good enough. I have the 92 to build still for more power if I need. Mainly looking for quick response and fun to drive with this 7m build.
Yeah, with the stock actuator on it too well see how much boost itll make. I may upgrade it if its not a lot and might break the 500 mark im looking for with a bit more boost. Though the 60-1 doesn't flow much past 25 psi so well see what itll make. After doing a bit more research it may be a...
Yes, the stock manifold and exhaust housings are small and restrictive. If you're looking for top end power/lots of power a t4 setup is far superior, plus has tons more options. The bolton is for stock appearance, simplicity, and quick response.
I've got two, not sure their origin. One is machined out toyota housings 60-1 and a P trim turbine I think (aftermarket center section), the other is an aftermarket exhaust housing and PT6176. Heres pictures of them with a stocker to compare.
I'm planning to use the 60-1 on my new 7m build and...
It wont work, use the stock map sensor. With a SAFC Neo, you'll be able to raise the fuel cut just fine with the stock sensor.
If you want an explanation, the scale is WAAAAAYYYYYY off through out. If you get the SAFC to idle ok, wot will be all wrong, etc.
Timing should increase after peak torque (around 4500-5000 on stock cams)..
and for 15 psi on 87 octane, I would start out with 14 degrees around peak and end up around 16 @ 7500 or so.. that should be pretty conservative to start with.
Thatll get you started and then go to a dyno and tune...
Car is an auto and has both puller fans and a pusher fan.
Its a possibility its the cooling system (temp switch is at like 215 iirc not very high), but a slim one... I'll by pass it this weekend and test
I assume the only real solution is to go back to R12 though right? A buddys father has...
