I don't agree with this at all, and I'll tell you why. I have a friend that made 431rwhp on a Mustang Dyno ( which reads at a 15% loss as recorded by the Dyno tuner). This equates to just under 500rwhp @ 17 psi. This was on a MA70 w/ a GT35R. I think each situation is different. Also...
I would also like to comment on the "dying up top" thing concerning a .68AR... I have a friend that has a .68 on his Supra and he still trapped at 136 mph on his 67mm WITH A CRAPPY START AND CRAPPY TIRES. So to pick up almost 140 mph:icon_evil in the 1/4mi def is proof that it was not dying up...
I took one in my JZA70. They are quick as hell, but the 1j got the jump and he could not even get beside me. At that time, I still had my stock twins, but I was BPU'd and pushing a little more than stock boost too.
Imagine how the American muscle guys must feel about losing to a foreign car... talk about pride being hurt. I hope it will show next week. But in all fairness, it could've been worse. They could have lost to a Honda!:biglaugh:
You say what you want... it was a manual, and he was revving and shifting hard. It was not a Z06 as I would have gotten my ass handed to me. But a regular C6... he ain't got shit comin'!:icon_evil He got the jump on me by a car. I was waiting for him to hit it and he was waiting for me. I...
The E-manage Blue (EMB) is the next step up from the S-AFC and just below a full standalone. You can control timing with the EMB or if you contact Winnepegman on Supraforums he can set you up with the E-manage Ultimate (EMU). Few know how to get it going, but he seems to have gotten it figured...
I think the S-AFCII will be good for you. The E-manage is also great. Check out: http://www.mohdparts.com/emanage/. This will help you to decide concerning the e-manage (blue preferrably). Then try this one for the MAPECU: http://mapecu.com/ Hope this helps.
When you are doing a burnout, there is a very good chance that you may create so much heat that your clutch seizes up to your flywheel. I have heard of people doing this with an AL flywheel (specifically FIDANZA flywheel), so be careful!
Yes to both. You will have less rotational mass AND less money. Welcome to the world of turbo-car modding! But if it puts that smile on your face and you can feel the difference from the seat of your pants (and you will) and the price doesn't kill you, then its worth it. Be careful of burnouts...
I just realized something... If the head components are the same and the 2j has bigger (and probably heavier) valves, wouldn't that put more of a strain on springs? I know those 2j guys push their stock heads pretty far so the 1j should go atleast as far, if not FARTHER! So if you wanted to...
My best wins were 1) Some kind of convertible Ferarri. I was on my way to work and I was rolling about 70-75ish when I noticed a red Ferarri coming from behind. He had to be rolling about 80-85, slowed down, smiled and proceeded to pull off. I immediately wanted to wipe that f'in grin off of...
Its so wierd because many of the 2j and 7M guys are all talking about how much torque, but I have seen a few videos of 1jzs running low 11s, low 10s, hi 9s and one running a low 9. All of these were on an MKIII body. I don't give a damn how you lighten it ( or if you do), IT TAKES TORQUE to...
My car is going thru a single conversion right now, but when I had the stock twins on, I would get 27 MPG on the highway. I would keep it at -10"Hg. It led for a boring ride but burned NO GAS. With the single on, I may not find out how good my gas mileage can be. I am going to let it go a...
A friend of mine got his 7M MK3 motor fully built (bottom and head) with port and polishing, oversized valves... the works! He put a GT35r on there and that thing RUNS LIKE CRAZY!!!!!!!! You would sware that he was running 17-18 psi instead of 13 (off the wastegate UNTUNED) psi at that! If...
