Finally got (almost) all the oil leaking problems finished! I ended up replacing almost all the front seals, cam seal, and a few others. I also dropped in a new rad since the old one was trashed. I rode around for about 30 mins and no leaks! XD! I do still have a fair bit of oil standing around...

    "Blocked off" brake line

I've gotta work and then launch into papers this weekend, but hopefully I'll be able to get this knocked out on monday so I can finally get to the lifts safely! I will miss my beer, but it is so much easier! I'm debating loaning out the hand bleeder from AutoZone again to speed up the process.

My new(ish) door card and trunk/fuel door cables got here today and yesterday! They're still in the garage and probably won't be in for a little while, but it's nice to have them anyways. I still have to fix the wiring inside the passenger door before I hang the card and I want to put in new...

    "Blocked off" brake line

So I got the car all put back together yesterday and took it for a spin around the block... WOW! It's amazing how much better the car feels with a full set of brakes! I don't feel like I'm driving a battering ram! However, there were still a few issues: 1) The brakes would grab and not let go...

Sweet! Keep up the good work. Looks like it's coming along nicely!

    "Blocked off" brake line

I have no f'ing clue. The guy said it was because the front brakes were dragging, but they were dragging because the dumbass rattle-canned the calipers while they were still on. Paint got inside and froze the piston. They really went to town with the red paint on this car. Belts, radiator hoses...

    "Blocked off" brake line

So I re-bent the line I bought yesterday and hooked it up in place of the old line. Bled the front brakes with ease and should be test driving tonight or tomorrow AM! I haven't properly routed everything yet, but will once I get some more time. Feel like a tool for going through all that effort...

    "Blocked off" brake line

Yes, you're right. I just had to try though. I've spent a total of $14 messing around, so still not too bad. Replacing it does seem to be the way to go. EDIT: I just called around looking for it, but it came up as $36 and the part has been discontinued. The two dealers I called said there...

    "Blocked off" brake line

@ Chaingun: I agree. I was very confident that I would be able to blow the nail out the same way I did with the other line, but sadly that's not the case. Do you think I would be able to re-flare the line without pulling it? If not, I might as well replace it.

    "Blocked off" brake line

I totally agree. So, I followed my buddy's advice and got a hard line and a coupler to get fluid from the master to the back side of the FL hard line: From the end of the Master Cyl: Taking a detour: And plugging into the end of the hard line. Also pictured, new braided stainless...

    "Blocked off" brake line

I know. I'm just being lazy. Not $12 from Toyota, right? I would rather get this from a place I can drive to as I'm sure shipping will be a PITA.

@ JayC: Lol, I know how that is. I haven't really been driving around too much due to the brakes being more or less inop, but I have gotten to spend a little time in the garage. This weekend was actually the most productive couple of days I've had! Fan and brake lines all in one weekend...

    "Blocked off" brake line

Yep. Here it is. This was the passenger line, but the driver's side looks the same except I wasn't able to pull it out to get a good pic. You if you look closely you can see the cross hatching on the head of the nail. AM3- The lines are bone dry as they have been blocked off since before I...

    "Blocked off" brake line

I don't possess the skills or tools to re-flare the line, and I don't want to pull the engine to re-run the line if I can avoid it. My lift is 35 miles away and across post so I don't want to drive that all on only 3 brakes if I can help it (yes I have driven it on just the rears, and that was a...

    "Blocked off" brake line

Yeah, the PO was definitely an Appalachian American, if you get my drift. No, because the nail is at the start of the line facing the direction of flow, so putting pressure on the pedal just pushes it further in. In order to extract it I need fluid to go through the line in the opposite...

    "Blocked off" brake line

Hey all, I posted this issue in my build thread but was hoping I could get some more exposure here. Basically I have a nail plugging up the front end of the driver's front hard line as it comes out of the ABS module. I got the nail in the passenger's line out by flipping the line and running...

    moonburn's Rattmobile Resto Thread

So I have still been unable to get the nail out of the driver's hard line. Yesterday I tried pulling it out by super gluing it to another nail, an idea of questionable intelligence, with no success. I went to the parts store today and got a hand bleeder and was unable to get the nail out with...

    My 1989 Supra

No worries. Other places I check for parts are Driftmotion.com and horsepowerfreaks.com If you're looking for OEM replacement parts, RockAuto.com has a pretty good list, but I've never actually bought anything from them. I would check the part-out threads here before buying OEM somewhere, unless...
