sorry man i thought you were the OP lol. anyways, id check the vacuum hose going to the wastegate actuator to the compressor housing first. could be cracked or leaking. seems logical if you haven't changed anything
to give you an idea of the difference the tab made, for me at least, with the tab installed the wastegate opened at 8 psi and crept fast to 18 psi and hit fuel cut before i hit redline. i removed the tab and now the wastegate opens at 8psi and slowly creeps to 16psi by redline. now i can use my...
I am having the same issue with my SP61GT. It will open at around 8psi and creep all the way to 18psi. I ported out the wastegate dumptube hole on the divorced downpipe, ported out the wastegate hole on the hotside of the turbo, and went from a 15psi wastegate actuator to a 10psi one and the...
*update*
i made adjustments as follows:
- fuel pressure at 35psi w/vacuum line disconnected
- safc hi-throttle settings at -5 from 3000-6500 rpm
- Lexus AFM adjustment screw @ 8 1/2 turns out from all the way down
yield = fuel cut at 17 18 psi possibly more
AFR's look solid at...
I emailed Sound performance to see if they offer a lower spring. They haven't got back to me yet haha. I'm a zero out my settings and make some adjustments to my idle screw and see how it performs.
man i was thinking completely opposite of what you are saying! ok, i will start with hi-throttle settings at 0 and see what that yields as well as bumping up fuel pressure. as of right now it's at 40 psi. is there a specific threshold that i do not want to surpass on the AFPR psi-wise?
Within the past few months i've been modding my car and I am finally done installing all my parts. i had idle issues with the new turbo i just put on but it's all been sorted out and the car runs perfect now. I went to test drive it today and it went well except for the fact that i hit fuel cut...
Update:
I put the SP61 back on with the stock accordion and symptoms are better, but not perfect. definitely doesn't bog down like it did in the video. I'd say my custom intake was at fault. Ill drive it around for a while and see how it acts. Thanks to all who chipped in
VERY NICE INFORMATION!! i appreciate it. more updates:
threw the custom intake on with the stock turbo and at first it was running normal but after it warmed up, did a few revs and sure enough it was bogging down and dying just like the SP61 was. so i've at least duplicated the problem and...
i did find a bolt backed off from the turbo housing on the compressor side. when i found it i thought it was a win for me. torqued bolt and it tried it again, yielded same results
Lol no problem! But I have an update:
Threw the stock turbo and accordion hose back on the car and it runs excellent. Vf is at a constant 1.9(needs more tuning), SAFC is zeroed out, Afr's at 14.7 at idle and doesnt go rich and bog down like th SP did when it was installed. Being that the car is...
