I know what the code is. One is lean condition, one is rich condition. I was driving and got a CEL. Those were the only codes. Are they related to any specific parts? forum search got me nothing. 90 7mgte.
After warm up and normal driving my car will frequently idle rough 400rpm as if there is a vacum leak downstream of throttle plate. Then sometimes it will go back to normal idleing. VSV checked out ok, no codes. According to TSRM my 90 GTE is showing signs of a sticking EGR valve. Looks like a...
What do you mean by " not really succesfull"? If you checked and changed them all properlly and still have your symptom then clearances are probably not the problem. If your not sure you did it properly use the TSRM and/or guides on this website and do it again. U can reuse shims from other...
My TB doesnt have that peice like the one in the photo, thanks for showing. I thought my throttle plate was closed in earlier post because I checked that the lever was fully seated againts the stop screw, it was, fully seated. I was wrong assuming that meant the plate was fully closed.
blocked off the ISC hose and it did not stall. Timing rechecked and is good. Although the lever on TB is againts the screw, If I put alot of pressure on the throttle the plate closes a little more and it will idle down to normal. Is there an adjustment on the TB? What is the bypass screw and...
Throttle plate is fully closed and thoroughly clean. It has the bosch bypass valve upgrade so I will check it out closely tommorow. I have a stock one I can put on if needed. I read in some other threads about air in the coolant system can cause the water temp sensor or cold start switch to keep...
I am trying to track down a 1300rpm idle issue. TPS is good, ICS is good. My AFM is showing 1950'ish on the ohms at about
62 degrees (f). That is under the 2000 to 3000 for 68 degrees (f) the TSRM states. But, the TSRM doesnt list the AFM as a cause for a high idle in the troublshooting. So I...
Codes cleared. TPS still does not pass the resistance tests with the meter. It also has no continuity between E2 and IDL with either .5 or .9mm guage.
Another thing, when the engine is reved the idle goes down to a normal rpm for 2 seconds then rises back to 1400. I have a TPS on the way.
I went to a local exaust shop and had them put together a something for me. 3" from dp back. 3" cat, resonator, 3" inlet muffler w/ nice dual out stock look. Has a nice deep tone but not too loud. All for under 500 installed. shop around untill you find what you like.
I now have a code 24 intake air temp which is AFM according to TSRM; still have a 1400 steady idle. Rechecked ISC. I unplugged the AFM while running, no change. Havent checked the afm with meter yet.
When I unplug the tps while running something definitely changes. kinda surges a little. But unplugging the ISC during running definitly no change whatsoever.
Ok, no consistent resistance readings coming from the tps. no readings WOT. I have to rotate it almost completely counter clockwise to pass continuity and prevent code 51. Bad TPS?
I had an erratic idle. Idled at 1000 then would randomly drop to 400. No codes. I decided to check ISC. Pulled it, cleaned it, it was nasty, also pulled the throttle body off cleaned it, it was nasty. After I put it back together I have a steady 1400 rpm idle. No codes. ISC has proper...
Thats good info thanks, I have been relunctant to replace it because I didnt want to deal with the mounting hassles that come with the aftermarket products. If I kept stock cleaned out IC would I benefit from new 2.5" ic piping over stock?
I have an exhause leak in between mani and head at no. 5. I can stick my finger in and feel it blowing. Anything need to be done besides swap the gasket out and clean the surface? And any damage being done to anything else driving it until until I can fix it?
Wow. thanks for pointing that out, I am usually careful who I buy from on ebay. Driftmotion has the same one so I prob would end up getting it from them anyway if I go that route.
I am not just wanting an upgrade, I need to replace my stock IC because I know it is full of oil gunk from a prev owner running a bad turbo for a while. Looks like DM has the same one but most get the bigger kit. Any thoughts on this type? Do most get the bigger kit for the bigger HP? Anyone...
I dealt with this earlier this year. It gradually got worse and to the point where my car absolutely would not start without a jump, especially when hot. The two things I found that made the car go from not starting to starting were. The other wire that connects to the starter, I think from the...
