For a clean install and to avoid the possible issues of clarity, I'd lean towards getting speaker pods and door panels from a '91+ donor. If I were to go the make my own route I'd rather build a FG enclosure myself versus leaving the rear open.
That's not so bad.... It's something he aspires to achieve with his own car.... at least he doesn't make any claim to it and hasn't put his SN on the images.
But yeah, tekdeus, how 'bout some pics of YOUR ride?
The drum portion of the rears is the parking brake. I have seen a couple cars, not MKIII's, converted to a full disc in the rear, but they usuall sacrifice the parking brake to do so. The other option is to look into a caliper which incorporates the parking brake..... such as I had the preasure...
Patent laws are in place to give an innovative product's developer a set amount of time free from copy-cats. If these limits were not in place things could get out of hand very quickly...
Especially the moment the patent was issued on a certain device which "through the combined use of...
Yeah, with the "squeezy thing" ROFL, that's the one. At the point where my car's at I'd have to have the engine up to running temp (at least) and I really don't like taking off the rad cap at that point.
Someone had suggested connecting a garden hose to the connector from a flush kit... a...
I agree completely here, there is a big difference between the dyes used by all the different manufacturers out there. CD-R's are cheap, even the VERY good ones. Burning at a slower speed often provides a MUCH greater contrast between the "burnt" and "virgin" bits of a CD. Running a surface scan...
My two major concerns would be with the materials used in the diaphram and the spring.
Although, as long as the shaft is free of burrs and pits so that it is free to open, if the diaphram or spring were to fail wouldn't you just leak boost (by the $h!tlo@d)? I'm not terribly knowledgable...
Well, I did compare the two rad caps by hand and the new one is definitely stronger, I'd guess 3-4 pounds.
My coolant issue is minor enough that I don't believe one of those dye and pump tests will show anything... I don't really think a compression test would show anything either. Are you...
DOH!!! Never even occured to me. :3d_frown: Well, I'll pick up an OEM when I can get the HG and other parts.
Who's Aaron?
Thanks for the advice. I'm still going to try to get some of those test strips, perhaps NAPA will have them. I am definitely going to baby it until I know precisely...
Yeah, just the buying that's difficult at the moment.
I did replace the radiator cap. I asked about the test strips at two different parts stores, but neither had them. One had never heard of them, the other simply had no idea where to find them. Does anyone know of a chain that carries...
Yep, I've already checked there, it's dry.... thank (insert deity of choice here), I hate replacing those.
On my way to work I'm going to stop by Checker (the only parts store on the way) and see if they have those test strips... I'll probably pickup a new rad cap while I'm there as well...
Yeah, I need to find a cheap coolant test kit. I'd just been told they usually ran about $40-$50 and not knowing when/if my wife's going to get her paycheck that's a lot.
If it's just Litmus paper I'd expect it to be damned cheap though.... guess I'll do some calling around tomorrow. Okay...
Ditto... I've got a MASSIVE collection of bolts from MKIIIs. All courtesy of the friend I bought the car from.
Personally, the only two things I can think of that really bother me are the design of the end links (Damn I hate cutting those little bastards out!) and the HG torque specs...
I'm pretty sure it's a BHG. I've burped the system numerous times the past few days. I am getting the "waterfall behind the dash" on occassion, I know this only indicates air in the coolant system. I've checked my coolant lines for cracks, but they all seem just fine.
I should add that, while...
Hey guys,
I did try searching this, both here and on SF. Here's the situation: My Supra is my DD, when I drive on the highway for 10 minutes or longer my car starts pushing coolant out of the overflow. This does not occur while driving locally or just for brief periods. I've just changed the...
Not all pre89's are wired for them, BTW.
The differences between the GE and GTE versions are all mileage related they're built with specific diff's and fuel systems in mind. Even using an aftermarket intake can make the mileage portion useless for anything less than a general idea if it's...
Heh, I've seen a few around the net. I just wanna do something because the doors are just too long to open in a parking lot..... but I've got something else in mind than vert's.
