Your saying turbos dont have oil seals... ummm okay then what blows out to cause oil in the downpipe and smoke out the exhaust? If its not a oil seal then what is it? a coolant seal lol One of my turbos I had the oil pump running too much pressure around 100 PSI and I hear a big POP!! and oil is...
Yes! it does kill the turbo, esp the oil seals, make sure u have a rest. plate im gettin one for mine after the third turbo. :nono: I am running 4 mm shim on oil pump and Rotella oil. With new oil pump, fresh Rotella oil, cold, high rpm im seeing 80 PSI. I dont drive it untill the car warms up...
I have 17 inch rims with 40 sidewall profile. I recently noticed somethin very interesting and thought id share and get your ideas/comments.
As many may know im running a T61 turbo and the stock gearing with my setup seems very low and my cars cant stay in gear for more then a second or so...
they want $350 to hone it plus I have to take off the waterpump and every possible nut and bolt on the block. They did tell me something usefull though, they said u can get this chemical that takes the allumium off the cylendar walls left from the melted piston, they said u can get it at the...
Can you do new rings without honing the block? It seems like a waste of money if your running good compression already.
Can you do a compression check cranking it over with a breaker bar instead of using the starter?
IJ I was thinking the same thing..
"they aren't keeping them for 100,000+ miles don't bother to maintain them correctly"
"Back in the days when I ran the Toyota V8's every JDM motor I came across looked like the monster from the black lagoon had taken a dump inside!"
LMAO!!
I wanted to start a thread to share my experience and get other ppls thoughts/experiences.
I got a JDM GE engine about a year back, it would replace my 88 GTE with about 100K miles. My original engine had rod knock and EVERY oil seal on the engine leaked bad. The JDM engine is suppose to have...
The block does not appear to be damaged except for the malt metal drippings that I can get off, how do I check to make sure the cylendar is in good enough shape to reuse without being machined again? What is the proper way to check? Most of the dripping are above the top of the stroke and I...
duude the knock sensor went off I told you I have a knock meter and it was flashing red, I was watching the other guy I was racing not the meter untill it was too late
A BLOWN SUPRA MOTOR!!

Here is the damage guys... :nono:
I guess the #3 pistons with 0 compression actually MELTED and it left molten metal deposits on the cyl wall and driped down into the crank. # 4 has a 2 small cracks on the...
Its best to hold off and get a wideband 02 sensor. The narrowband is going to tell you very limited information because it reads on a very small scale so if you drop really lean or rich it will not be displayed.
