Wanna know the best part?
Here it is: the only thing that really kept it from running that whole time, even while it was at the dealership.. was a blown EFI fuse.
Thats right.. the Toyota dealership didn't even think to check the basics before saying it wasn't possible.
But yeah, the...
During my pedal installation... a green light fell down out of its socket... and I have NO idea as to where it fell from... anyone know where it plugs up to? I know that my ignition switch has green illumination from it.. I am thinking that it might be that.
Anyone ever have this light drop...
I have found myself in a mess to get my car going yet again.. but here is how it all goes.
Bought an 87 NA with W58
Bought the clutch pedal and brake pedal assemblies
My car was an automatic, I already ripped the engine and transmission out
I have a new NA 5 speed harness, already wired...
It has been a while since I have had my targa off, but I remember the stock targa being quite heavy.. once I even let it fall and hit my gf on her head.. because I couldn't keep it up in the air. So my main thought of all this is... since you are planning to have it made with CF... how much...
The people you are talking to must be thinking you have a mkiv... and probably couldn't point out an mkiii.
I have ran into it several times where people even go as far to say that my car isn't a Supra, just because it isn't a mkiv.
Its stupid I know...
You need the low impedance injectors from the other engine... the ones on your newer engine are rated at like 14 ohms while the ones on the older models are 1-3 ohms...
I have found that the VSV plugs don't match up, nor do the coolant temperature sensors, the resistor block wiring isn't on the new one... needless to say, the harnesses are not near being the same... it would take quite a bit for me to get it going the way it is now... the older harness that I...
I don't think that pulling the codes would do me much good, it is possible that it could even steer me in the wrong direction considering that my harness isn't fully wired up.
Swapping out the body harness would be a real PITA... I am seriously thinking to myself that it would be easier for...
Was your timing out only on the distributor, or was it out on the camshaft and crankshaft timing? You can have a timing belt pulley out 180 degrees.. which is what I ought to start checking into next..
I can here my flapper in the MAF rattle back and forth during long cranking... is that...
My old thread has shown its age, and it will no longer let me reply to it. But let me sum it up in a few short words... I put the 89+ engine into an 88 model, and it is giving me loads of trouble.
I really thought my problem was the injector wiring and everything along those lines, but even...
That top bolt is really only there to be a pita. You can get it out fairly easy if you have a broken wrench to get up there with. Some people use super long extensions but I am not fortunate to have anything long enough.. I always done it the broken wrench way. There are only 4 bolts that...
Alright, so I towed the Supra back to a friends house today nearby... so I can finally go through and finish her up. I wired the injectors correctly going right from the ECU to the injectors then gave them all ground...
After doing that I did what I could do to get the fuel pump to work...
Does it have a half life to the vibration - it will make the similiar vibration at 70 too if it has something to do with your suspension in any way.... had a guy one time say his car shook at 100 some odd miles an hour... and it would make the same noise at exactly half the speed he proclaimed...
Wow, so today I finally got to tear into getting the good starter in.. and I finally started to get her cranking over. But now I have ran into bigger problems. We got spark, so I did all the distributor wiring right, and I have compression, so I did the head job all right, but fuel seems to be...
Pretty sure you are talking about the small brownish gold looking ones... those are brass if I am not mistaken, and yes, they seem to be a specialty item, but they are inexpensive.
