I guess since you all are now curious... I will explain my situation.
I was driving through Kentucky... and that in itself is dangerous.
I was going up a hill on the interstate and I started to hear my RPM's go erratic... and I could literally hear my exhaust coming on and off.
I pulled...
Since this thing is a big rig... all I can say is "TURN UP THE PUMP" and you can pull more than 17's! Shoot... you have bigger tires than any drag racer I know... all that traction... lol.
Run over those slowports.
I want vids of this thing destroying some stuff so bad...
That is a fusible link... and the yes that is done pretty redneck... you can buy a new one from the dealer for 7 bucks... and it is a lot nicer than that.
Last night I cut myself while repairing my wiring harness.. my pointer finger on my left hand.
I have busted open my left eye while removing my downpipe at a gas station.. with an umbrella. (don't ask).
Those are the two that come to mind... the one last night wasn't too bad, but I...
Someone please donate this man a 7MGTE... I am sure you can get that 6 speed you have coming to bolt up somehow..
Great build... truly amazing to see the car get saved.
Can you believe that while I was putting together my engine... someone pointed at my surge tank and said... oh man! This car has an easily accessible fuel pump! That is so sweet! I definetely just looked at him and said ahhh yeah... gotta love Supras!
pfffft... yeah wow.
Now something to...
If you can successfully tune your engine to run without backpressure... then do so... there is no better exhaust than a free flowing one.
The time that having no backpressure is bad for your engine, is when it isn't setup to run without it... all stock engines are tuned to what they come with...
You all are crazy... shouldn't taste fluids... lol
Now I will not come out and say that it's healthy, I know that it isn't. But there are a lot of times where taste can help you identify what exactly you are working with.
ATF for example, that can cause cancer from over exposure... and...
I tasted the coolant from the exhaust... it was very sweet... I knew right away that it was in fact coolant.
I am taking my head to a machinist here locally to get it checked for cracks and everything... I don't have all the stuff to do it here at home.
Now there is one thing that...
Thanks for the replies. The only part of the EGR that seems to be missing is the pipe that goes right from the EGR outlet to the intake manifold... and on the manifold all it has is some homemade block off plate made of nothing more than mild steel... leaving all of my exhaust gases just...
When I look at what section of the forum I am in, it makes me kinda laugh.
I sadly do not have a turbo.
I wish I had a cracked turbo center housing... it would mean that I had a turbo...
Thank you though IJ.
Why would there be coolant dripping from my exhaust if I didn't have a bhg? I just finished pulling off my head, and I was expecting to find this terrible old stock head gasket. But instead... the thing looks to be brand spanking new.
The engine I bought only had 120K on it, and I just got...
What good is it to put a car all back together, and get it moving.. without pictures?
I had it moving, and running great.. and once I got back home to TN for Christmas... the headgasket popped... I mean right as I was pulling onto my road! Just my luck..
I have some ARP's on the way...
Lets see here.. injectors tick, valves can tick if not adjusted properly, and another thing to consider would be the gear for the timing belt on your crank. Sometimes the keyway can get waffled out and that will create a ticking noise. My suggestion is to do some stethoscoping around.. that is...
