    Dead cylinder questions....

Simple. Do the quickest and most inexpensive fix that you can do. Shave the head, get the new stock HG on there... and it will last just as long as the one that blew on you if you do it all right.

    Dead cylinder questions....

Go with the aftermarket one before the stock... a head shave isn't a bad idea. It's completely up to you with what you decide to do... It's not as if the engine was turbo... so its not all that much of a big deal. You aren't trying to hold any sort of boost is all I am saying, so it won't...

    Anyone seen this one around?

It looks as if it is an unwrecked parts car. It is disgraceful, without any doubt. (Personally I would have thought anyone dumb enough to do that sort of thing would have already wrecked it, a few times, or maybe it was already wrecked, and repaired back to that, and they were so dumb to think...

    Dead cylinder questions....

I don't know your money situation, but I would suggest an HKS over the Cometics. I have heard of people blowing through their Cometics.... Originally Posted by IJ. Cheap peace of mind! (I've killed 2 cometics so far with much less abuse than this) Setheroo: and I have Cometic stickers...

    Dead cylinder questions....

Really sorry to hear that it came down to that.. I am sorry. But if it makes you feel the least bit better, when stuff doesn't work properly, all that it really means is that it is time for an upgrade to make sure that it does work properly.

    Dead cylinder questions....

Soooo get a handy dandy Volt/Ohm meter... and ohm out each and everyone of your injectors, and compare that to the spec (which I am not sure what the spec on the injectors are, but could easily be found). If one of your injectors doesn't ohm out to the spec, or doesn't have continuity at all...

    2JZ S2k...

The S2k needs a lot of upkeep... they change their trans fluid just as much as they do their oil (almost)... my brother has one and I like to drive it, but always liked my Supra more. The only thing I enjoy about the S2k is having VTECH kick in and being able to hit 9 grand (the 2.0 will hit...

What to do with my 7M?

I think he meant put a 7M GTE in rather than a 1JZ GTE

What to do with my 7M?

I know I could use the wonderful search button for this, but I don't feel that bad since you gave the advice to go with a 7M, how much could be saved from going with a 7M compared to the 1JZ? Or is it not how much you can save, but how much power you can gain? I know single turbo is the way to...

What to do with my 7M?

The engine made it clear to 170,000, and ran healthy, I know there isn't any cracks or anything like that... I had the whole car serviced when I first got it, and everything checked right to spec. 300 to 400! nice... never thought to be able to see that much out of it.. around here stuff like...

What to do with my 7M?

Not long ago right before the day of my 18th birthday my 88 Supra NA ended up dying (the main bearings went out on me). To say the very least the engine is gone, it would cost me just as much for a rebuild of that engine as it would for a whole new engine (going to go 1JZ for the new year). I...

OMG you guys is this guy on crack or what

That car happens to be worth it. I GLADLY paid all of 4k for my 88 NA... it was clean, local, and of course GORGEOUS... and maybe it is an automatic, and maybe it doesn't even produce 200 horsepower anymore... but I am much happier to own my car than say a honda for example - I feel like I am...
