Yeah the ATI comes with a 9", but if you spoke to them over the phone, they would build you any converter you wanted to fit their 7m or JZ kit. They built the kit for the destroked HKS MKIII racecar that had a glide in it as well as did the converters for Paul Efantis's old race car. They are...
Any speedometer shop can make you a custom cable. You just have to send in a core with the toyota gauge cluster end on it since no speedometer shop can get this end new. Then let them know the length you need and have them install a TH350 type end on the other side. Then you will need a 1:1...
Making a yellow plug harness fit the car wouldn't be the end of the world and it would be much cleaner than chopping the sockets out of an old ecu to make a patch harness.
I don't see a need for anything aftermarket here. Use the older spring, new toyota clutches and shim the diff testing the breakaway torque as I described in my supraforums thread. ~80 ft/lbs is perfect for street strip and will handle a lot of power. Use a standard 75-90 gear oil. My diff...
This car has actually had the TH350 in it for almost 2 years now. I'll probably put the 5 speed in eventually when I get bored so I wont feel so bad for the car taking it on really long drives.
I'll be down for street wars in this car.
Thanks everyone. I think the car will pretty easily drop in the 9s without using the NOS during the pass, I will def have to make some adjustments to find some more traction however. You can see for yourself what it did on the incar video of the 10.4 when I tried hitting with a bit of power...
second pass 10.4 at 138, letting out of it. just out of the hole. Car broke loose real bad. No NOS all day. I'll get some vids up tomorrow, I have to go to PA now. You guys should of come down. Track was empty, you would of gotten a lot of passes.
I don't know if the e6k can do this, but with my ps2000 and e11v2 I was able to use one of the outputs as a "tacho" and then you can configure the rpm signal any way you would like. Just run the output to ig- (instead of the dis-4 tach output) and once configured properly, your factory rpm...
There is quite a bit of clearencing involved for a 2jz if you are using the th350 bell housing. The motor sits 3/4" further back than a 7m.
Cost can vary greatly depending on how much you put in to the trans.
The tranny mount and shifter have to be custom fabbed of course. I run a...
DIS-2 will not work unless you buy 2 of them. The DIS=4 is what you want assuming a stock wasted spark system. You also need two msd tach adapters and aftermarket coils since the insulation on the stock coils is not enough to prevent arcing to ground, which requires a set of plug wires to be...
