usually normal to smoke a lil after a nhg repair(head only) but it could also be that your exhaust manifold studs are loose or the threads are ripping out( kinda normal for the 20 yr old alum head) and loosening up.

all you need to do is get the connector and re-pin them. which finding out which wores need to go where might take a bit but you wont need to do any soldering. all connectors come apart to where you can remove the wires from the connectors with out cutting the wires.
if you do get it for 100 bux new its not going to be reliable or accurate and who knows how long it will last. might as well save your money or find some good used ones. pillar pods are like 50 bux new for a lotek one.
