Those will fit and you can run anything from like 205-255 f and 215-285 back. Thats super strectched to super buldge. Depends what you want. I would go with 235 and 265 tho.
It will puke out the fill tube if it has way to much. When are you checking the stick? right after you put fluid in? IF thats the case then you have to wait to check it so the fluid can go all the way down the tube.
Might have sucked water up through the intake which would be why you got the afm codes and it wouldnt rev. Clean it all out and make sure the wiring to the afm is good.
Might want to call toyota and ask about recall on hg for that year. Iirc there was a hg recall for 4 runners but i dont remember what years.
If it applies you could get a major deal adn toyota would pay for all the work and parts.
