I have the sard 650's (yellow top) you can buy them from rhdjapan for around $700 but honestly. Thats enough money to buy a top feed rail and injectors, FPR and pigtails and in the long run its cheaper. as you have many more options for injectors, just being side feed, you pay at least $50 more...

I remember reading an old thread, about 550's actually flowing about 440cc. is that true for all of them? is there no point going from 440cc to the 550's?
The Rod to Stroke Ratio on the 1jz is 1.76 (125.5/71mm) same as a honda b16 so in theory it should be able to rev past 8k with ease without much deflection on the rods. and pistons speeds are still under 4000 fpm at 8500. I dont know what kinda of bearing clearances and type Toyota uses, but...
If anything Non Vvt-i is stronger, Toyota went with smaller lighter rods on all their vvt-i engines. from the 2jz- all the way up to the 2uz-fe. let me show u a examples..
