I hear ya jake , I might just end up doing that. I know better than to cut corners, problem is I just put $3000 into parts and still have more to get and if I spend much more the wife will castrate me lol. So just trying to get feedback on what I can get away with doing myself. Although I'm sure...
This is the first engine i have had bottom end off of and thr engine is finally out and on the stand and when I took the pan off noticed some brass colored flakes by the magnet. I will be pulling the caps off to check the crank tonight and was wondering if you guys have a good way of keeping all...
I would just find any cheap decent block and send into someone that is proven to do good work on it to do your machining for you that way you can get everything you want or don't want done to it.
So I pulled engine out and put it on a stand and when I dropped the oil pan there were trace amounts of brass looking flakes. Everything looks great though to this point, crank turns great, can't feel any play in rods or pistons but I will be pulling the caps to change the rod/main bearings, but...
Why not save a bunch of money and do it yourself. Its not hard to do. Take your time do it right and spend the money you save doing it yourself on quality parts. There are Step by step instructions on changing the headgasket on this forum.
Update...when I dropped the pan off there was small flakes of brass by the magnet. Obviously bearings right? I planned on changing the bearings and oil pump anyway but still hoping when I take the caps off the crank looks fine. Everything looked good though that's what I don't get. Crank spins...
Yeah I deff missed those..its out now...it was a bitch by myself not letting the crank turn while loosening the bolts to the PP. Anyway, did I mention I love u guys? Now if everything looks good when I take this oil pan off I'll be happier than a retard in a room full of bounce balls!
So I have all the tranny bolts out, the inspection plates are off, the slave cylinder is off...do I need to reach up in through the inspection area and get the fork out because this tranny will not come off the block? There is about a quarter inch gap between the bell housing and the block and...
Well thanks for the feedback fellas. I'm starting early tomorrow morning...I'm gonna take a bunch of pics to eventually post a build thread. Gonna be a pretty extreme before and after..I can't wait! I'll keep posting on this thread if I have a question. Thanks again guys.
I guess it depends on the kind of person you are and the reasons you own the car. I have 2 other cars that are my daily driving cars that i will obviously want to keep the AC in and keep them really "nice" i guess. But i own my supra simply as a hobby and a toy. I would much rather take out...
You guys! Stop telling him to get it appraised before one of us can even make a decent offer at buying it off of him to hold for Supra history!! Hey man, seriously, seriously, want to make the easiest $2,000 you have ever made? Just enough to pay for that new tranny for the corolla?? sign the...
^ thats what i was looking for, i planned on keeping most the lines and sensors in case i want it back someday. I'm just talking condensor/compressor and a couple of the big lines...lol I just don't really want it. Top off and windows down are fine for me. I don't have any ambhition to take the...
This has had to be covered somewhere but I cannot find what I'm looking for. I'm just taking out the AC altogether in the supra while doing my rebuild and was wondering if there was somewhere that describes the process of deleting the entire AC in the MKIII? Just need to know a few little things...
...When you are driving with your wife and out of nowhere damn near give yourself whiplash from a head turn because you think you see another supra....then get punched by your wife because there happend to be a pretty lady walking by at the same time...and on top of that, you explain to her what...
Damn fellas, i posted that title to get attention, but you guys are taking it like a job interview for a 1-800 number company lol! I can't pay someone 20 bucks a minute on the phone, that would defeat the purpose of asking for help. I may as well take the car in and have someone do it for me. I...
Learn something new everyday, about the harness through the mani, i guess I have never seen that. And uhhh yeah...if I wanted to do it the easy way i could have just disconnected the ecu... LOL damn i wish i would learn how to ask questions before i do dumb shit! The motor is out and most of the...
